Thanksgiving Napkins with Brandie

Hi Everyone! Brandie here with a tutorial on how I made some pretty napkins using the Split Pumpkin Set  (Silhouette store) and the Darling Script Font (Silhouette store) .

I wanted something to spruce up my Thanksgiving table this year. I’ve never had a fancy table-scape and probably never will, but a girl can dream. With this project I will get a little closer to that goal.

For this project I used 100% cotton napkins, gold glitter heat transfer vinyl, brown glitter heat transfer vinyl, parchment paper, and an iron.

First I added the font to my computer then uploaded the split pumpkin to Cricut Design Space.

I sized the pumpkin to a width of 3.1 inches and a height of 3.4 inches. I then welded the image so that when I send the pumpkin to the mat the top and bottom of the pumpkin will cut stacked on top of the other like in the picture. For each name I adjusted the letter spacing so that the letters touched I then welded the letters together so they will cut as one piece as well.

Since my name is the longest I used it as the guide to size the other names. The height is .72 inches for all of the names and the width vary for each name.

Once I was happy with the sizing I was ready to cut. I turned on the mirror image for both mats, adjusted the images on the mat to give myself a little more room for weeding, and cut the images out of the heat transfer vinyl. When applying the vinyl be sure to put the shinny side down on the cutting mat.

I washed and pressed my napkins. I also dry fit the two images  so that they would be in the bottom center on the napkin.

I always use a piece of parchment paper between the vinyl and iron. Then pressed  the vinyl with as much pressure as I could to get a good adherence. I then flipped the napkin over and pressed the back of the image. I then repeated the steps for the name.

Here they are finished and ready for my Thanksgiving table. Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Silhouettes with Brandie

Hi there! Brandie here from Conviviality Crafts with a fun and easy Halloween décor project.

I used the Vintage Frame Skeleton Silhouettes. You can find the man here and the woman here in Lori’s shop. You can also find them in the Silhouette Store here and here. I cut the skeletons out of vinyl and applied them to some silver paper for a faux vintage mirror look. I then trimmed the skeletons to fit into my dollar store frame.

There you have it! They are ready to add to my Halloween gallery wall!

Happy Camper Box with Brandie

Hi there!

Brandie here from Conviviality Crafts with a fun Camper Box tutorial. We have a family tradition of camping over Labor Day weekend and knew this little project would be a fun surprise for the kids. You can find the SVG file here in Lori’s shop and in the Silhouette Store here.

Once I had the files uploaded in Cricut Design Space I resized the all of the images and added an extra layer to the camper body for the two tone look with a stripe. All of the pattern papers I used are from Echo Park’s I Love Family collection.

After getting everything cut out I inked the edges of all my pieces, folded all the score lines with mountain folds, and stacked the two box pieces together to punch a hole for my handle. I then dry fit everything so that I would know how everything fit before gluing.

It’s easiest to assemble and glue all the detail pieces first, the banner, door, wheel, and camper stripes.  For the curtains,  be sure to attach to the back side of the camper body. I used some foam tape on the curtains, wheel, and the camper body for depth. I glued down all of  the detail pieces to the camper body then attached the camper to the shadow piece. I then glued the hitch into place.

For the box I laid the two pieces side by side and applied glue to one of the tabs and glued the pieces together using the score lines as guides,  creating one long piece. Next I folded the box in half on the score line,  applied glue to the other side tab, and tucked the tab in so that the glue side of the tab is on the inside of the box. Once the tabs were secure, I  lined up and glued the camper to the box while it was still flat.

Once the camper was glued into place, I popped out the box, folded the bottom tabs in,  applied the glue then folded the bottom up creating the bottom of the box. Before the glue was set I made sure everything was lined up, turned the box over and pressed the tabs down from the inside of the box.

From here I attached my wire handle and embellished the front of the camper with enamel dots and stickers.  I also filled my box with all the ingredients for S’mores! Which is a camping MUST. Now I just need to make a few more for all the rest of kids going camping this year.
