Scottie THANK YOU Cards

Hello, Crafty Friends!! It’s Design Team Member, Mitsyana, back to bring you these quick and easy (and  SUPER CUTE) Scottie Thank You Cards.

In light of current events, sitting her crafting during Hurricane Harvey, I am compelled to make Thank you cards. It’s always a good thing to tell people just how grateful you are. Even a little gratitude goes a long way!

These Scottie Thank You(s) come together so quickly that I was able to make them in different colors! I like being able to have an arsenal of cards at my disposal at any given moment!

To make these I used Lori Whitlock’s A2 Cutout Scottie Dog file. (here in the Silhouette Store)

I opened the file using my Sizzix ecal software and grouped the pieces by color for easier cutting. It helps with out having to reload the mat for each color used. And as long as all the pieces fit on my mat I can cut them all at once.

I decided not to use the pre-scored card that came included because I wanted to change the direction the flap opened. So, I removed it off of my virtual cutting mat.

The card front is sized to a standard A2 card so me changing the direction of the card fold will not affect the overall look or assembly of the card whatsoever.

I cut all my paper using my Sizzix eclips machine. Then used my Xyron Mega Runner to layer and adhere the pieces together.

I used a glue pen to attach Scottie’s little bow then added highlights to it using a white gel pen.

I used a fine-tipped black ink pen to draw stitch lines around the perimeter of the stamp-shaped card mat.

I pieced the tiny flag sentiment together then added stitch lines along that as well.

Once the card front was pieced together I used my Mega Runner to attach it to my card base. This time the card flaps from top to bottom instead of side to side.

As a last minute touch, I added a little glitter enamel dot to the center of Scottie’s bow for a little bling.

Here is the finished card…

And it was so super easy to make that I decided to make it in other colors as well!

It looks great in brown!

And it’s absolutely fabulous in teal!!

These are so much fun to make!

I think I need to make much more… I have many people I want to send thanks to but this is a great start!

Hope you enjoyed my project for today!

“Thanks” for stopping by!!

My Favorite Place- Flower Card

Hello, Crafty Friends! Mitsyana Wright here, back again and now officially part of the New Lori Whitlock Creative Team! Woohoo!!   I have this wonderful Flower Card Tutorial to share with you all using one of the flower files from Lori’s Bird Tree Flower Bundle Set. (here in the Silhouette Store)

This card is perfect to give to your significant other or your bestie.   And makes a great ‘feel good’ or ‘just because’ type card, because you don’t need a special holiday to let someone know you’re thinking of them.

I used my Sizzix eclips and ecal software to cut the flower file #6 from the bundle set. I sized the flowers to 3″ tall and cut two sets of flowers.

I inked edges of my die cuts for more depth, choosing an ink one or two shades darker than my cardstock.

Then attached the layers of the flowers together using a glue pen.

Once both flower pots were assembled, I snipped off the ‘pot’ to of one of the flower cuts, just leaving the stemmed flowers intact.

I used this shape from Lori’s 5 Labels set, to create a card mat & shadow, and sized it to 3.460″ x 4.406″ (white cardstock) and 3.66″ x 4.606″ (brown cardstock).

I layered the pieces together using Xyron Mega Runner and attached it to a matted A2 Sized card base (patterned paper “mat” measures 4″ x 5.25″).  Next, I attached double stitched ribbon along across the bottom of the card and trimmed off the ends.  Then, I attached both flower cuts. Stacking one on top of the other and placing the trimmed one in the back.   I used a stamping tool to stamp my sentiment onto the front of the card.  Finally, I attached the little bow with a dab of strong clear glue.

And here is my finished card…

I really love the detailed layers on these flowers!!! These were so much fun to make! I’m sure these flowers will bring a smile to anyone’s face!!  Hope you all enjoyed this tutorial and give these pretties a go!

HAVE FUN CREATING!

5×7 Tiered Cake Gift Card Holder Tutorial with Kathy

Hi Everyone, it’s Kathy today with a quick tutorial showing how to assemble Lori’s 5×7 Tiered Cake Gift Card Holder.  (available here in the Silhouette Design Store) I have 4 weddings this year and this is sure going to come in handy!  It’s also a good way to make giving a gift card a bit more personal!

And here the card is open, with the gift card…

Here’s how to put it all together…

First, cut all the pieces.  I used some plain cardstock for the main body of my card, and some fun printed papers for the decorations.

Next, place the top tier of the cake with the slots for the gift card over the main piece as shown.

Fold the tabs on the main cake piece and add adhesive to only the tabs of the main piece.

Fold the other side of the main piece over, keeping the top tier in between the layers, pressing down to secure where glued.

Now for the fun part!  Decorate the layers using the embellishment pieces.  I also added some flower stickers and glitter to my cake tiers.  Insert your gift card in the top tier, using the tabs, and slide this piece down into the main part of the cake.

This card fits into a 5×7 envelope.  It could also be used for birthdays!  That’s it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Lovebug Box with Corri

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing my take on Lori’s ladybug slip lid box.

To turn my ladybug into a “love”bug,  I  used the “release compound path” feature to remove the polka dots and replace them with hearts.

This little box would be great for classroom Valentine’s Day treats.  It’s  adorable on it’s own so I added just a couple of embellishments.  I cut a pieces of glitter cardstock to fit behind my hearts for a little sparkle and added a sticker from the Doodlebug – Sweet Things Collection and a twine bow.

Head over to the Lori’s SVG Shop to find more adorable treat bags and cards for Valentine’s Day.
