Digital Inspiration with the Silhouette Software

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday from Ashley.  I’m bringing you a little different post today.  I created an invite within Silhouette software.  I create digital layouts and invites in Photoshop Elements, but I wanted to show you that you can also create digital cards and invites in Silhouette Studio.

I used Lori’s Island Paradise Digital Files found here.  She also has an SVG kit of these items in her shop here. I used the adorable Flamingo from Paige Evans found here.

Fonts: LW Darling Script, LW Perfect Type here or here.

If you need to save and print invites at a print shop, just select Print and choose a PDF printer.  This saves your file as a PDF.  Ready to print.

Enjoy!

  1. I am not understanding how you are making a digital layout in the Silhouette.
I use Photoshop Elements to do digital layout out. How do you save the file in Silhouette to send to say Costco to be able to print. I save the files in photoshop elements as jped.
    Thanks for your help.

  2. Hi Sandy,
Using Photoshop Elements is the best way to make a layout and save as JPEG. The Silhouette Studio is a free option if someone doesn’t have Photoshop. Saving in Silhouette Studio is limited in the free version. Instead of saving, you have to select “PRINT”. Then choose a PDF printer (may need to install that program first). Choosing a PDF printer actually saves the file as a PDF. Then you can use the PDF for printing at home or at a copy center (like Office Depot or Staples).

Alternately, you can print to your own printer without saving as a PDF. You cannot save the image as a JPEG in Silhouette Studio Basic or Designer edition. So this method wouldn’t be helpful to send a layout to Costco.

    Hope that helps.
