Buzzing with Kindness

Spring seems to be just around the corner…I am sure there is more winter to come here in South Dakota…but I am remaining hopeful.  And with Spring just around the corner, it’s time to think about gardening and bees.  So I broke out Lori’s Bee Happy collection.  This is such a fun collection, and it’s perfect for Spring and Summer.

First, I used Lori’s A2 Honey Card.  Just the cutest little shaped card.

And next Lori’s Beehive Box Card.  I love to make both styles of these cards.  Always my favorite and I get to use lots of embellishments from the collection.
Here’s hoping Spring is on the way and that the bees visit my garden

Big Box Card Lemonade Basket

Hi. Today I’m sharing a tutorial for this adorable Big Box Card Lemonade Basket (SVG, Silhouette). Like the title says, this project is big and so fun.  No problem cutting all the flower center pieces!

1. First cut all the pieces.  If you are working in Silhouette Studio, remember to find all the white pieces that may be hiding behind a layer. Also think about any patterns you are using in your paper, and place them accordingly.  Notice the direction of scalloped flap pieces.  In this picture those pieces are a butterfly pattern.  But you’ll notice later, I used the other side of the paper.

2. Layer all the pieces, using the finished project image as reference if needed. Aren’t the ice cubes so fun!

3. Adhere the basket panels onto the basket piece.  Notice here that you will first fold down the basket flaps, and then adhere the scallop panels to the folded side.  Here I decided to use the other side of the paper!  Luckily these pieces are symmetrical so they fit perfect.

4. Time to assemble the basket.  Glue the flaps together to form the basket. I used liquid glue for the flaps.

5. Now insert the pieces into the basket and glue the flaps to the sides.  Do your best to evenly space out these flaps. They are numbered 1,2,3, so you can easily place them in the correct order.

6. Flatten the project and make sure the inside glue tabs are adhered well.  And adhere the front banner and flowers on to the basket.  Noting which panel is the front before adhering.

7. Tada!  Enjoy your finished project.  This is a fun one.  You can find some other of these Big Box cards in the Shop. I used Lori’s Have a Great Summer Collection. You can pick up your favorite Big Box card during Lori’s Sale!

Hope you are having a great summer!

Beehive Box

Hello Crafty Friends, did you catch the new Bee-autful Beehive project bundle (SVG) from Lori Whitlock released last week?
Today I am sharing one of those projects called Beehive Box (SVGSilhouette).

The bees on it are so adorable. I have used mine today to make a little bee themed spa gift box. It has many other uses too! Change it up with some honey cough drops, honey & lemon herbal tea & some tissues to have a get well gift for someone feeling a little under the weather.
Don’t forget to check out the other 2 Beehive projects Beehive with branch box card (SVGSilhouette), &  the A2 Beehive Easel Birthday card (SVGSilhouette).

Summer Layout Tutorial

Hello! We got the dreamiest paper in the mail last week and I couldn’t wait to create with it.  Echo Park’s Have A Great Summer designed by Lori Whitlock has all the best colors and papers. It made me think of how fun this layout would be with these papers.

First I decided on papers and made my cuts. (*If you are making this on cricut, check your sizes, my scallop page cut 7×7 so I had to adjust.)

I went ahead and inked all my little pieces

And then I added letters to the banner pieces.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is it’s never a bad things to flip the paper over. I had originally thought I wanted to use the pink side of the solid paper, but it just wasn’t as summery so I flipped it and used the yellow. I love that I did. So bright and fun.

I added my photo and took a few liberties with positioning the other elements. I made sure my sun was over my clouds so it wouldn’t blend into the background and popped the photo corner up on the outside of the photo.

My banner I wanted on a string so I added my bakers twine and then popped the banners up over top of the bakers twine.

Finished off the layout with some chipboard and stickers from the Have A Great Summer line and a few enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
