My Favorite Place- Flower Card

Hello, Crafty Friends! Mitsyana Wright here, back again and now officially part of the New Lori Whitlock Creative Team! Woohoo!!   I have this wonderful Flower Card Tutorial to share with you all using one of the flower files from Lori’s Bird Tree Flower Bundle Set. (here in the Silhouette Store)

This card is perfect to give to your significant other or your bestie.   And makes a great ‘feel good’ or ‘just because’ type card, because you don’t need a special holiday to let someone know you’re thinking of them.

I used my Sizzix eclips and ecal software to cut the flower file #6 from the bundle set. I sized the flowers to 3″ tall and cut two sets of flowers.

I inked edges of my die cuts for more depth, choosing an ink one or two shades darker than my cardstock.

Then attached the layers of the flowers together using a glue pen.

Once both flower pots were assembled, I snipped off the ‘pot’ to of one of the flower cuts, just leaving the stemmed flowers intact.

I used this shape from Lori’s 5 Labels set, to create a card mat & shadow, and sized it to 3.460″ x 4.406″ (white cardstock) and 3.66″ x 4.606″ (brown cardstock).

I layered the pieces together using Xyron Mega Runner and attached it to a matted A2 Sized card base (patterned paper “mat” measures 4″ x 5.25″).  Next, I attached double stitched ribbon along across the bottom of the card and trimmed off the ends.  Then, I attached both flower cuts. Stacking one on top of the other and placing the trimmed one in the back.   I used a stamping tool to stamp my sentiment onto the front of the card.  Finally, I attached the little bow with a dab of strong clear glue.

And here is my finished card…

I really love the detailed layers on these flowers!!! These were so much fun to make! I’m sure these flowers will bring a smile to anyone’s face!!  Hope you all enjoyed this tutorial and give these pretties a go!

HAVE FUN CREATING!

Flower Pot by Brigit + Mini Album by Traci

Are you ready for Mother’s Day next weekend? When I saw this adorable project by Brigit, I was inspired and hope you are too.  Brigit says…

I first saw the 3 Little Flower Pots set from Lori’s store I wanted to make it right away, it’s so adorable.  I paired it with the Tree Shaped Card for a cute little unique gift set, perfect for Mother’s Day or just to give someone special!

The digital paper and elements are from Lori’s Sweet Memories Collection, I didn’t want a traditional green tree so the flower pattern was just what I was looking for.  Everything was printed and cutout on my Silhouette Cameo.

The 3D flower I downloaded from the Silhouette Online Store and the leaves are from the 3D Flower Set 8. I used utee (ultra thick embossing enamel), on some Limeade Trendy Twine for the stem so it would stand straight, I really love how these turned out.  I also used some Tickled Pink Trendy Twine on the planter box with a cute little button.

For the faux stitching I added an internal offset to the tree top and trunk and changed the lines to dashes, it’s a fun way to add stitching.  The tag is attached with some Tickled Teal Trendy Twine.

Thanks for stopping by, if you make this set I would love to see, you can post on Lori’s facebook page here, or add a link or on my blog post here. To check out Brigits blog you can go here.

Next we have an awesome mini album by Traci! Both of these projects took my breath away! Way to go ladies!

Traci says… “Spring has arrived here in Georgia, but before we know it, these warm days will turn into the hot days of summer!  Since I’m a little behind on scrapping last summer’s photos, I decided to make a quick mini album to get a little caught up.  This fun cascading album is one of my favorite new digital cutting files from Lori.  She has several of these cute albums, and they all have different edges.  You can use the same edge throughout the mini, or mix the edges up for even more fun!
The title is also one of Lori’s designs — I love how I can pull both up on my computer and size the title to fit the album perfectly!
The paper and embellishments are from Echo Park,  “A Perfect Summer” by Lori.  So cute!
For the first and second pages, I used several pieces from the chipboard sheet.  I also layered one of the adorable brads on the camera to give the page a little shine.
What would summer be without the sun?  When I saw this chevron edge circle it reminded me of a sun and I thought it would be a cute spot for a round photo.
I always love pockets and tags in my mini albums, so this adorable library pocket was perfect for tucking in a journaling card.
I have a few more photos posted over on my blog at  Artsy Albums so I invite you to stop by and say hi!
Here is a list of products that I used in this mini:
Digital Cutting Files:
Lori Whitlock Library Pocket with Tab
Lori Whitlock 12 Months
Paper and Embellishments:
White card stock, Bazzill
Ribbon, American Crafts

Cards by Christine and Flowers by Natalie

I LOVE that so many of our Creative Team Members are in the card making mode. It has been great inspiration for me. Today we have Christine and Natalie sharing their adorable projects with us.  Christine says…
It’s time to stock up on cards.  Already this year, I have been caught without a card when I really needed one.  So I found this cute little card file in Lori Whitlock’s shop and decided to make a couple.  There is actually 4 different styles and I am showing two of them.

What I love about making this cards is that if you use double sided paper, you can do the card base and accent panels from one piece of paper and one cut!
The belly bands are the different elements in the four cards.  The other two, not shown, are square and star shaped.  Look for those in an upcoming post because I am hooked.
Here is my second card.  This one has a circle shape on the belly band.  Instead of using the circle accent, I decided to use the space to attach some coordinating cardstock stickers.
The papers I used on both of my cards is  For the Record Documented by Lori Whitlock for Echo Park.  It’s a beautiful paper collection.
These cards are really easy and quick to cut out and decorate.  A really good card to use to build up your stash!

Next I have some very clever hair flowers to share with you. Natalie has created these beauties with one of Lori’s SVG files, I was shocked…
I’m excited to share with you this cute little project. I would bet you would have never bet that this was made from my silhouette?  When I saw the rolled flowers in Lori’s shop I knew that I wanted to try them out of fabric, and they worked.  The key is to use either stiff fabric with some stabilizer under it or, use this thin fabric to cut from.  The fabric I chose was thin polyester lining.  It’s used to line skirts or dresses with out adding a lot of bulk.  I came in an array of colors, and it was super cheap.  I cut the fabric 12×12 to fit on my cutting mat, then cut out the shape with my silhouette.  There were a few places that didn’t cut all the way through, which I hand trimmed, which is OK because these are not suppose to be perfect.  After I cut them, I grabbed my lighter and singed the edges, making them pucker and curl.  Then I got a needle and thread and had sewed the curls into place, then attached the rhinestone button.  Then hot glued a clip and some felt to clean it up.  Now I have some cute little flowers for my girls hair.  I think they turned out darling, now only if I had the time to make about 100 more!
The file I used was from Lori’s shop and you can find it here.

Happy Valentines Day projects by Corri & Amanda

Happy Valentines Day! or SAD (Single Awareness Day) as my teenagers would say. We hope no matter your situation you have a fabulous day! As always we are sharing some amazing projects. First up is the talented Corri, she says…

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I hope you all have a great day with the ones you love.

I have one last Valentine’s Day project to show you and I have to say I’m a little sad….I’ve had so much fun creating with the Love Story Collection from Echo Park, designed by Lori Whitlock.

For today’s project, I made a simple card using two hearts from Lori’s 11 hearts set

I created the scallop mat by welding a border strip to a rectangle. I cut this adorable tall heart gable box to match.  This box is super simple to make….it cuts out has one piece. I added some chipboard embellishments from the Love Story collection.

Amanda has created this beautiful Valentines Day Box…

As it’s valentine’s day I thought I’d create and decorate Lori’s fabulous heart shaped box. I used some layered flowers and doilies on the lid for embellishment. I glittered the flower pieces and added a valentine’s border around the lid.
I used the Love Story papers and SVG Files used are:
3 doilies 3
Heart Shaped box
Valentines borders 2
5 layering flowers
