A2 Insert Card Ideas

Hi there friends! Brandie here with a few ideas for some of the new insert cards in Lori’s shop. There is lots of options, endless possibilities, and they are so quick and easy to assemble.  I used the A2 Insert Card Mandala (SVG, Silhouette), A2 Insert Card Flower Spray (SVG, Silhouette), and the A2 Insert Card Cut and Fold Butterfly 4 (SVG, Silhouette).

Once you have the images uploaded in Cricut Design Space you will have to decide which version you want to use. There are three. I used the folded card with the insert.

I ungrouped the images and deleted the flat card version and front cuts version. I also changed the middle score line from a cut to a score line.

I folded the cards at the score line then tucked the insert into the card from the back (inside).

I used white cardstock for the base of all three cards. I used a papers from the I Love Crafting collection by Echo Park Paper for the flower spray card and the butterfly card. I painted the flower spray card with watercolors. For the butterfly card I added sequins to middle of each butterfly for some sparkle.  I used distress oxide inks and gold paint on white cardstock to create the color blend for the mandala card.

These cards really are so quick to assemble, look great as is or embellished, and will make the recipient so happy. That’s it for me today. Thanks for stopping by!

Pop Up Butterfly Card

Happy Monday friends! I am sharing one of the new Pop Up Butterfly Cards (SVGSilhouette). This card is so pretty and makes a big impact with the large butterfly on the inside. I love how adaptable they are as well. The colors and sentiment can be changed out as you need. I changed the sentiment from Thank You to Hello in Cricut Design Space and cut an extra decorative panel to add to the front of the card.

I used the I’d Rather Be Crafting collection by Echo Park Paper.  Give this card a try. It really is lovely.

Fireworks Display

Hi there friends! Brandie here with a tutorial for a cute 4th of July Fireworks Display (SVGSilhouette) These fireworks are so fun and simple to make. They can be added to a vase, mason jar, or even a fake potted plant like I did here.

First fold all of the score lines as mountain folds (away from you). Then glue the decorative panels in place. (I glued the long side tab first and then glued the decorative panels which made this step a little harder for myself.) Glue the long side tab creating a octogon shaped tube. Working from left to right glue the top tabs together until you have two tabs left. The last two tabs can be glued together at the same time. Pinch the top points together then flip the firework over and use a pencil or paint brush handle to secure the tabs on the inside of the firework.

Now its time to embellish the firework, curl the tails, then using hot glue add a paper straw or bamboo skewer to the inside of the firework.

I resized the firework and made two smaller ones. The paper collection I used is America by Echo Park Paper Company.

That’s it for me today. Thanks for stopping by!

Accordion Fold Dad Card

Hi there friends! I am sharing a different take on the Dad accordion Fold Card (SVG, This file is coming soon to the Silhouette Store). The original is darling with the little tools but I have an outdoor loving father in law that will enjoy getting this camping themed card. I just love a card that that can be easily altered with papers and embellishments. I used the Summer Adventure paper collection by Echo Park Paper Co. This card will also fold flat and fit in a A2 envelope.

That’s it for me today! Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Shaped Cards

Hi there friends! Brandie here sharing some of the new shaped cards for Spring. I made the Frog (SVGSilhouette), Bee (SVGSilhouette), and Rose (SVGSilhouette). You can also find the bundle here (SVG). These little cards are so sweet and would make any recipient smile. I also think these would be a great kids craft. The pieces are easy to assemble and do not need a lot of supplies.

I used two shades of green cardstock and a bubbles embossing folder to give my frog some fun texture.

The patterned paper and stickers are from the Spring Fling collection by Echo Park Paper. I also used a a chevron embossing folder on the yellow sections of the bee.

I got a little fancier with the rose card and turned it into a shaker card. To make the shaker element I used the same technique found in this tutorial by Cathy.  I used various shades of cardstock, a sequin mix, and a Swiss dot embossing folder.

I hope you all have a great day.  Thanks for stopping by and stay safe.
