Linda Auclair has been one of my biggest cheerleaders over the past few months. She’s such a sweetheart! Last week she sent me the photos of this darling letter box that she made out of my Happy Days collection produced by Echo Park Paper. I think it’s quite a clever project and thought you all might want to see it. And, Linda has so thoughtfully written instructions and you can download them HERE. Leave Linda some comments to let her know cool this is! If anyone has projects they’d like me to feature please feel free to send them to me at info@loriwhitlock.com. And, to all my Echo Park fans out there… I’m working on some super awesome new products that I just can’t wait to share with you! Have a great Tuesday!

Season’s Greetings Cuteness & Giveaway!
You’ve got to see the darling projects that Happy Life Crafty Wife created with my Season’s Greetings collection that I designed for Echo Park!! Tamara is seriously one talented girl. She’s inspiring me to pull my Season’s Greetings paper out of it’s perfect little package (I have to admit, I have a lot of paper still in the cellophane bag – I’m always busy designing more!) and create something fabulous… like her ornaments, tags, or embellish some cute boxes. And, just so you know, if you visit her website you can comment on her POST to WIN a collection kit (tell her LORI sent you). Hurry… the contest ends FRIDAY the 30th!

A Big Hello!
Becky Higgins is such a sweetheart! I’ve been working with her for several years now. Today she posted a link to me and the other designers she works with. She’s so awesome to feature us and link to us!
I want you all to know that I’m so happy to have you visit and I’m excited to get to know you better! Thanks for dropping in! Most of my current work is for Becky Higgins, Echo Park, and Silhouette. You’ll also find a store HERE on my site with some digital downloads. Feel free to follow me on FACEBOOK and TWITTER as well. I often host giveaways and will keep you updated with what I’m working on. Oh, and you can also subscribe to the right to receive email updates if you’re intested. Have a fantastic Monday!
Card Making
I have always received a great deal of joy from creating beautiful things…. out of nothing. So, for me, the limitless possibilities of fun shapes I can engineer and cut with my digital cutting machine is super exciting!! Seriously…to be able to load a sheet of paper into my Silhouette and then have it magically cut the sheet perfectly so that it folds up into a beautiful card (or box or whatever) is nothing short of a miracle! The end result is an awesome project handmade by me that brings a smile to someone’s face. And, to me that’s absolutely amazing!
I’ve designed quite a collection of cards over the past couple of years that are available at the Silhouette Online Store. I thought I’d take the opportunity today to post several of them all in one place so you can see them, use them for assembly reference, and hopefully get some good ideas! Even if you don’t have a cutting machine, hopefully you can glean some ideas from this post.
Card making is something I really love to do. I’ve designed several card kits and card projects over the years. One of the first card projects I worked on as a graphic designer was “The Ultimate Card Kit” by Lisa Bearnson. Right then and there I was seriously hooked on engineering cards. Cards are easy to assemble and go together very quickly. Homemade cards certainly don’t need to be a sheet of cardstock folded in half. Try making a card out of a circle, scalloped shape, or a bracket shape. You can create them out of just a few supplies that you most likely already have on hand. Use ribbon, stamps, brads, buttons, and flowers to embellish your cards. And, the best part… when you give your card away you are making the world a more beautiful and cheerful place. So, go give it a whirl and make someone happy today!

Silhouette Layouts
I hope you had a great weekend! My cousin and her three children visited us this weekend. Her husband is in the military and they currently live in Germany. It was so fun to see her and hear all about her travels. She taught my family how to play Agricola (a farming German-style board game). It was a really fun game and I’d highly recommend it – especially if you like Settlers of Catan or Ticket to Ride.
I’ve added a few new layouts to the Silhouette Online Store. They should be up in the store sometime later today or tomorrow. Take a look. Even if you don’t buy the cut files, maybe you can use them as inspiration. Have a great Monday!
