Story of Fall Banner by Tya

Hello Lori Whitlock friends! It’s Tya here up on the blog today. To officially welcome Fall to our home, I decided that a cute banner was just what my mantle needed! So I decided to use the adorable Story of Fall line to make this fun and festive project. Let me show you what I did!

So I found a banner base that I liked and cut 4 of them out on my Silhouette. The file I used didn’t have 2 holes punched in it to string the twine through , so I just made a couple and placed them on the top two corners of the base. I then covered the bases with a few fun pattern papers from the Story of Fall Collection.

I then cut out 4 ovals and used my Silhouette Sketch Pens to draw an orange border on the ovals. Then I used the darling LW Homemade font and cut out the letters F A L L out of brown cardstock and added them to the top of the cream ovals. I then cut out a few leaves.

If you notice on the leaves, there is a pattern embossed on them. I was able to get my hands on the new Silhouette Curio machine and had a great time using the embossing tool with the Curio to get the patterns on the leaves. I found some really beautiful shimmery specialty paper that took the embossing wonderfully!

I added some chipboard elements from the Story of Fall collection to the banner shapes.

I also added some buttons and twine to the leaves for some added texture.

That’s all there is too it! I had alot of fun with this project and hopefully have inspired you to make this fun banner to get the fall season underway in your home too! Happy Crafting!

Files used:

-6 Banner Shape ( I added 2 holes instead of one) (Silhouette Store)

-Build a Banner (LW Shop)

-Fall Leaves ( LW Shop) (Silhouette Store)

-LW Homemade Font (LW Shop) (Silhouette Store)

Watch HSN Today + The Story of Fall

First off, I wanted to let everyone know that I’ll be on HSN tonight (Monday, September 21) between 7:00 pm-9:00 pm talking about the new Silhouette Curio! If you’ve been wanting a Curio, this is your chance to pick one up at a great price with FREE shipping and Flex Pay.

Next up, Cathy is here today to show us a gorgeous project….

Hi everyone!  Cathy here with you today sharing a layout with the gorgeous new Lori Whitlock collection from Echo Park, The Story of Fall.  I had so much fun the other day taking some Fall pictures of our little grand baby and I knew that I wanted to scrap these precious photos with the collection.  If you look closely at the photo, can see she is holding a matching headband to her tutu.    The look of her face is one she gives me often…like really Grandma?, I hate these and refuse to wear this!

Man, I love that face though.

The Story of Fall has so many fun prints and just tons of embellishments.  I used the enamel dots, the ephemera pack, acorn and leaves washi tape, chipboard along with the collection pack.  Plus, check out those hearts, they are all embossed with the Falling Leaves embossing folder from the collection.  I was inspired by a sketch from Paper Issues that you can see here.  It was perfect for using the journaling cards in this collection.

The thankful, hearts and arrows are from Lori’s SVG file… There is Always Something to be Thankful For.  I love how versatile Lori’s files are, I simply sized the thankful  to what I needed and then re sized the hearts and arrow for embellishing my page.  Perfect!

Thanks for joining us today, we can’t wait to see what you create with The Story of Fall!

Foxy Gift Card Holder

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing a cute gift card holder I made combining a new file with an older one.

I used Lori’s new Gift Card Holder and added this adorable little fox to the front.   This paper is from the Echo Park – The Story of Fall collection that Lori designed.  The patterns are fabulous…I especially love the wood grain.

Here’s a photo of the inside of the card.

These make gift giving so easy…a card and a gift all in one!  Head over to Lori’s SVG Shop to see the other designs of gift card holders.

To Do List with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It’s Kathy today with a cute little project to help you organize!  If you’re anything like me, you have lists and sticky notes everywhere in your house!  I’m a firm believer in, “if it doesn’t get written down, it doesn’t get done!”  I saw Lori’s To Do List with Pen Holder file  (here in Silhouette Store) and thought that this would be the perfect way to consolidate all of my notes!  Take a peek…

I used the new The Story of Family Collection that Lori designed for Echo Park.  I love the colors!

I love the little tab on the side to hold a pen… I can never find one when I want one!

For the list paper, I used regular copy paper… I stapled the tops together, then adhered the “paper pad” into the list holder.  This went together really fast!  I’m going to make a few more, one for my purse and one for my daughter it will come in handy now that school is starting!  That’s it for me!  Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Fun Cards with Cathy

Hi everyone!  Cathy here with you today and I have a couple of fun summer shaped cards to share with you.  Both cards feature Lori’s Echo Park I Love Sunshine collection!  I love this collection, so many fun colors and patterns with super cute chipboard!  The ephemera pack is so fun, so many elements to create with.

I first created this side step card.  So easy to create and just a little bit of fun to brighten someone’s day.  This card fits easily into an A2 envelope with it’s clever folds.  I just added papers, chipboard and ephemera pieces from the I Love Sunshine collection!  After, I created this card…I saw that there were a bunch of new designs from Lori on the Silhouette Design Store, so I had to make just one more.

How cute it the A2 Shaped Sun Card?  So easy, I just added a couple of stickers and embossed some card stock for the center of the sun. Again, all of these goodies including that fun polka dot washi tape is from Lori’s Echo Park I Love Sunshine collection.  There are a bunch of new cards in Lori’s Shop and in the Silhouette Design Store.

Thanks so much for joining us today.  I hope you have a bright sunshine filled day!
