Confirmation Stand Up Card

Anita here with a really easy card to make that comes with an envelope and is stunning.  It is called 3D Stand Up Card: Easter Cross and you can find it here in Lori’s Silhouette Store.  It is perfect for all those first communions and confirmations that usually happen this time of year.  This is for my nephew who made his confirmation on Saturday.  I used Lori’s brand new Echo Park line called Go.  See.  Explore. to create the card.  I also used some letters from the I Love Family Alpha Sticker Set and used some of her brads from the I Love Winter and Go.  See.  Explore lines and an enamel on the card from the Go.  See.  Explore collections also.  Lori’s collections all mix and match so you are able to combine papers and embellishments from various collections to achieve the look you desire.

Here is a close up of the card.

The cut file to make the envelope is part of this set and so easy to put together.

I used a sticker from Lori’s Echo Park I Love Family collection to seal the envelope closed.  That’s it for me today.  Be sure to check out Lori’s store and her Silhouette Store for all your spring and summer card and gift needs.

Hugs,

Anita

Summer Pinwheel

Hi:

Anita here with a fun and really easy tutorial to make this giant pinwheel.  It is part of a whole set of goodies that I made for my nieces to have a lemonade stand.  I used Lori’s Echo Park Collections called Celebrate Spring and Celebrate Easter.  The cut file that I used for the pinwheel is called 3D Double Pinwheel and you can find it here in Lori’s store and here in the Silhouette Design store.

Here is what the cut file looks like when you it open it in the Silhouette program.  You have to ungroup it as the pinwheels will only fit one to a page.

Here are the supplies that I used for the pinwheel.  You will need a hole punch that can go through the paper straw and a brad that has a long enough shank to make it through all the layers.  I used one of Lori’s Echo park I Love Christmas Decorative Brads.  I placed the sides of the paper that I wanted to see most of  facing up.  Two sided papers work beautifully with this project as you can see some of the other side when it is put together.

I used a paper straw and punched a small hole near the top of the straw.  Paper straws come in many different colors and look so cute with the pinwheel!

The first step in putting together your pinwheel is to put the brad through the two center pieces of the pinwheel.

You put it all together by pulling gently on the center piece that has the hole in it and pushing the brad through the hole.  Keep going until you have all the holes connected through the center brad.  Then push the brad through the straw.  Depending on how thick your paper is and how long your brad shank is you may have to fuss with this a bit.  I pushed it through with the assistance of my Tim Holtz pick and then bent the shank pieces down with a knife.

You can only see one tab of the brad but they are both there just underneath one another.  Turn the pinwheel over and you should be able to separate the two pieces to fan them out and show a bit more of the paper designs.

Here is a close up of the pinwheel.

I used a whole lot of Lori’s files to create this set and just love that huge pinwheel.  Have a great day and hope you have a chance to make something pretty today.

Hugs,

Anita

Tulip Easter Basket Tutorial with Anita

Hello Everyone:

Anita here with a fun tutorial for putting together Lori’s fun 3D Flower Tulip which you can find here in her SVG Shop and here in the Silhouette Design Store.  My dear friend Kathy loves the Cadbury Cream Egg candies so I made this for her.  I bought a basket at Target and decorated it with Lori’s Echo Park collection called Celebrate Easter.  I used the patterned paper for the flowers and leaves and the stickers and enamel dots to decorate the basket.  Such a cute collection!

Here are the items that you are going to need for your project.  I also used some florists foam which I cut to fit into the basket, Zip Dry Glue, some Scotch tape and a pair of wire cutters.

First, fold your flower pieces along the score line so that the fold makes a valley on the flower petal.

Glue two of the pieces together on to form the left and right petals.

Add the third petal and you’re ready to add the wire.

I cut my wire 16 inches long and then folded it in half. The flowers are two inches tall and my basket had foam and needed a 2 inch clearance to reach the top of the basket.  I added four inches to allow for them to stand up and that is how I arrived at the 16″long, 8″ folded measurement.

I flipped the tulip petal group over and taped on the wire.  This seemed to hold better than glue.

I added the remaining 2 tulip petals, for a total of 5 for each tulip.  You are now ready to wrap the wire.

For the samples in the shop, Lori used floral tape to wrap her tulip stem.  I decided to use washi tape which had the same pattern as the leaves.  I wrapped the whole stem to the bottom.

Once I finished wrapping the stem I added one leaf at a time with some wet adhesive and nestled the second leaf into the first.

I then wrapped some washi tape around the bottom of the leaves to hide where they come out of the stem.

Here is a close up of the basket with my completed flowers.  These tulips were so quick and easy to make!  I hope that you have a chance to check out Lori’s SVG Shop to see what other adorable Easter items she has created.

Hugs,

Anita
