NEW in Lori Whitlock Shop Today!

Are you ready for Halloween? It is one of my favorite holidays, partially because of all the fun decorations. Have you ever thought of making your own? Well, when I saw the new shapes today, my mind starting spinning with lots of ideas with the new and old shapes. There are quite a few in the Halloween section of the shop, so if you don’t see what you want here, be sure to peruse the shop. Happy Halloween…

From Drab to Fab

Our creative team seems to have a flair for embellishing the world around us and Joy is no different. Today she shares with us a beautiful redo of her crafting cabinet. I am shocked at how much vinyl can change something.  Here is her finished project using the “Fall Flourish” shape in the shop.

Not that the cabinet wasn’t beautiful before, but look at the difference. I love how she personalized it to her personal esthetic. I need to think like her more often. Great Job Joy!

.

At her blog she gives you a great explanation of how to cut and apply vinyl. If you need extra help or instructions then hop over to Joy’s blog.

New Shapes in the Shop

Lori has created more great shapes I want to share with you.  I love the circle backgrounds she has been making. Check out the shop for more that were listed last week.

Thank you to all of you that entered the Creative Team contest. We have so many wonderful applicants, it is going to be VERY difficult to choose. We hope to have a decision for you soon.

Bring on the Bling

I always love to see what our creative team member Natalie shares with us because she always surprises me. She used her Cameo to personalize her daughters bike. Such a fabulous idea!

Natalie used Lori’s heartflower and border files.  They also had to name the bike, so the purp-cycle it became.  Her bike also had the foam and vinyl cover over the handle bars that i turned inside out and added “I heart my bike” to it.

Natalie said “While i put the vinyl on, I found that it was easier to use a more delicate border, only because it was a little easier to bend with the curvature of the bike frame.  It was a little challenging applying it, but I think the more loose and loopy the flowers and the loopy border, just helped that it was a little free fitting on the frame.” so keep that in mind as you are embellishing your own transportation devices.

She shares so many great things on her blog, I hate to steal them all, so make sure and head over to Natalie’s place to check out her instructions and more great photos. Thanks Natalie!

‘Owl’ Be Your Friend

After uploading SO MANY of Lori’s shapes into the shop, I have created a list a mile long of projects I want to make. This is just one of them. Because my list was so large, I combined 2 different SVG’s to make this cute pillow. I used “Heart Owl” and “Owl.” The “Owl” file had those beautiful ‘ruffles’ while the body shape comes from the “Heart Owl.” This was so fun and just needed a few tweaks to get it to this point. It was so easy to create with the felt. Next time you create an SVG file consider making it 3D or with felt. SO FUN!

For more info, go to my blog. I have all the instructions listed step by step there.
