Spring & Easter projects by Christine & Natalie

Today we have 2 different Creative Team members sharing their talents with us. First is Christine, she says…
I have created a mini book using the Mini Album Pinking Edge and some papers and embellishments from Sweet Girl by Lori Whitlock for Echo Park.  These are just a few of the pages.  You can see the rest at my blog.

The front page of the mini book has a banner title that is part of the Sweet Girl collection by Echo Park in the Silhouette store.  I loved that I could make this banner larger so it really becomes the focus of the page.

I used another digital cutting file by Lori, called Scalloped Shapes for the background of this journaling card that is part of the paper pack.

You can see yet another frame on this page from Lori Whitlock.  It is called the 4×6 Frame in the Silhouette Store

Mini books are really so much fun, especially when you can cut out your own.  It easy to add as many pages as you want and even alter the size.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by to see my project.

Natalie has a beautiful Easter project to share with us.
I’ve been know to make big signs for my front porch.  So when I brought this wooden pallet sign for my front door home from my local craft store, my son immediately said, “Mom, that isn’t nearly big enough for the front porch.”  I said, “silly, it’s for the front door.”  I had to figure out how to make it work, because I just had to bring the pallet looking sign home.  And since Easter is around the corner, I came up with this:

I first cut out the Easter saying out of vinyl, and placed it on the unpainted pallet.  Then I painted the wooden pallet blue, sanded and distressed it, removing the vinyl to reveal the color below.  I then cut out the Easter egg out of card stock, and using mod podge adhered it to foam core.  I then used plain old doilies, and cut circles and used the left over flowers that were cut to make the banner and stapled them to some twine and attached it to the pallet using hot glue.  It took me about an hour to make it.

Eye Candy by Mendi and Joy

Today we have 2 of our talented ladies on the blog, Mendi and Joy. Mendi is up first with an adorable Easter layout…
“Well, as promised I challenged myself to use Lori’s new Echo Park collections to create an Easter layout. What took me by suprise though was that rather than going with the more girly “Sweet Girl” line, I ended up using her “About A boy” line almost exclusively. Just goes to show how versatile these papers can be for all sorts of themes including a girly project.   When it came to embellishing my page I turned to Lori’s fun spring shapes.  I think one of my favorite things about diecutting my own embellishments (aside from saving loads of money) has to be dressing them up. With the help of some chalk ink, hand stitching, foam tape and buttons, Lori’s flower, chicks & butterflies totally came to life!   I used her LW Happy font for my title, topped with some Glossy Accents. I love how doing this gives you the feeling of a fancy alphabet sticker, but the beauty is it’s always the perfect size to fit your space and you’ll never running out of vowels”.   🙂
For today’s layout I used the following cutting files:
Also don’t forget that today is the last day to get all these great shapes and many more for 25% off using the promo code “March25” at checkout.

Next we have Joy with the cutest gift’s. Joy says…

These purse toppers are so cute!  Cut them to fit any bag you already have to turn it into an adorable gift holder.  It’s such a versatile file.  You can dress it to fit any occasion.  Use it to hold gift cards, candy and more!

Easter Chicks by Corri

Hi everyone!  I  have a cute and quick Easter project to show you today using files from Lori Whitlock.

I made two of Lori’s Bunny Tote baskets.  These little baskets are so adorable and go together very quickly.  I added some googly eyes and inking to the ears and noses.  I also made a super simple card using the Happy Easter title.  I just added a bow and some gems to finish off my cute card.

Beautiful Easter Basket by Christine

Ok, I will admit it.  I have a weakness for chocolate. So I’m so glad that most holidays feature sweets as part of the celebration.  Easter, of course, is no exception.  In fact, it’s the best holiday for chocolate and sweets in my book.  So when I saw that big chocolate bunny created by Lori, I just knew he would be the perfect thing to put into my woven Easter basket.

First, I cut out the basket.  I used some woodgrain paper from     Lori Whitlock’s paper for Echo Park.  The basket went together very easily but I would suggest cutting out two handles so that you can have both sides of the handle look the same and so that it is a bit sturdier.  Lori has a video on her YouTube channel that shows you the exact steps to putting this basket together.
Next, I added this cute little bow as decoration.  Wow, what fun these little bows are to put together.  I am definitely going to do more of these in my future projects.
Here is my little chocolate bunny.  I thought it would be fun to cut out his bow a couple more times and attach the extra pieces with foam adhesive.  I love the dramatic look.  I also cut out a mirror image of him and the bows sothat you could see him from both sides.
I think that this is going to be a cute little table decoration for my foyer table.
