Doodlebug Design Cut File Feature: So Much Pun

Hi Everyone!  Today I’m showcasing another fabulous project using Doodlebug Design’s cut files!  These fabulous cards were created by Brigit Mann for Doodlebug Design.

Brigit used the Fries, Gumball Machine and Candy Bar Files from the So Much Pun Collection to make her shaped cards.

For more views of the album, see the original post here.   New Doodlebug Design SVG files are being added to the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop on a regular basis, so stop by to see all of the fun SVG files HERE!

Have a great day!

Halloween Shaker Card Tutorial with Brandie

Hi there friends! Brandie here with a tutorial for some spooky pastel shaker cards. I love that pastel colors are creeping into Halloween crafts and décor.

I used the 5 x7 Ornate Card Witch Boot, (SVG, Silhouette), 5×7 Card Ornate Witch (SVG, Silhouette), and 5×7 Card Ornate Cauldron (SVG, Silhouette). The black and white papers come from the Fright Night paper stack by American Crafts and the Halloween shaker bits are from Cartwright Sequins.

The cards needed to be adjusted for the shaker element. The first thing is to remove the score line. (I was careful not move the remaining images because they are aligned perfectly for slicing.) Once the score line was deleted I selected the white top layer and the second black layer and sliced the images.
Now that the two layer have been sliced I  have two white images and two black images. I deleted the two black images and the original white image.

I repeated the above steps for the other two cards. I then adjusted the size to be a perfect 5×7. This is now the fronts of my shaker cards.

I created a new card base for each of the cards. I added a 10×7 rectangle and add a score line down the center. I also cut three additional 5×7 rectangles for the bottom layer of the shaker element.

For the shaker bits I created some pockets with a fuse tool and plastic page protectors. When I create shaker pockets I like to use a scrap piece of paper to help me fuse in a straight line. I made three pockets 4 3/4×6. I trimmed the excess plastic and added the sequins and star glitter to my pockets then fused the top closed.

I dry fit my shaker pocket with the front and back 5×7 rectangles then marked where I needed to attach the shaker pocket. I attached the shaker pocket with super sticky double sided tape. Then added two layer of craft foam around the edges of the shaker.

I then attached the die cut fronts to my shaker pockets with another layer of double sided sticky tape. Then attached the complete shakers to the card base with my tape runner.
I also added some black and white bakers twine to finish off my cards.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a Happy Halloween!

NEW Christmas SVG projects + 30% OFF

Did you see the new Santa, Snowman, and Reindeer Shutter Cards and the Santa, Snowman, and Reindeer Tag Bags? I love these little tag bags because they use paper efficiently – you can fit 2 on a 12×12 sheet of cardstock! That makes them great for producing them in larger quantities for a party, teacher gifts, or neighbor gifts. They are sized just right to fit candy or gift cards inside. And, the best thing about these projects is that they feature some NEW 2018 Christmas characters. These characters can be used on all kinds of holiday projects and are designed to layer easily. I know they look complicated, but I promise they are not nearly as hard to layer as they look. You’ll find more of these cute little tag bags in the SHOP featuring Halloween and Thanksgiving themes.  And here is a closer look at the new Christmas themed Shutter Cards!

Halloween Fun with Cathy

I love Halloween paper crafting, I can simply never get enough and it’s so easy to create little treat boxes for all your favorite ghouls with all the choices you have from Lori.  There are tons of boxes and bags at her shop or at the Silhouette online Design Store.  I used an older Halloween Collection for Echo Park today for my projects.

First up two little treat boxes, easy peasy and go together in a matter of seconds once you have them cut out on your machine.  I used the 2 favor boxes on 12×12 at Silhouette  and the ribbon tie bracket favor box silhouette version or ribbon tie bracket favor box at Lori’s Shop.

Then I created a cute card and little paper bag for another little ghoul!  I used the a2 pop dot bat card, silhouette version and here at Lori’s shop.  Then just an adorable little paper bag that just takes seconds…bag with rounded top, Silhouette version and here at Lori’s shop.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out all of Lori’s great treat and favor boxes…the possibilities are endless.
