3D Pocket Explosion Box Tutorial

Happy almost Halloween, everyone!  Yes, my very favorite time of the year to create. Today I’m sharing a fun tutorial for one of Lori’s adorable designs — the Pocket Explosion Box (SVG, Silhouette)  I love how quickly and easily this project comes together.

EEEEK!  It’s so cute!
First, start with cutting all your pieces.  Here is the outside of the box and the lid.
This is the inside layer of the box, the little purple pocket like folders.
And the lid.

After cutting all your pieces, start assembling.  I started with the little file folders, just fold on the score lines and just use your regular adhesive to put them together.
There are 4 total of these little cuties.
This is the inside of the first layer, the black star print is on the other side. Adhere a folder to each side.
So it looks like this!
Next, create the inside layer of your box.  You just fold over and adhere, it makes the cutest little library type pockets.  Just add adhesive to the bottom square on the opposite side and adhere to your first layer.
Now you just get to have fun and go to town with all the little embellishments.
Just open and this little box just explodes with fun!  Adorable!
Thank you for joining us today!

Lantern Mini Album

Happy Monday friends!  Traci here, and I’m excited to be back on Lori’s blog with my latest mini album, using one of her amazing svg files!  For this one, I used the Box card Fall Lantern file.

I cut the cover shape out of acrylic, but you could easily use card stock.  The cutting file includes lots of cute pieces for the front of the lantern … the mushroom, pumpkin, flower, and even some fall pieces that I didn’t include at the top, so you get lots of options in this cutting file.

This cutting file was created as a box card, which you’ll have to check out because it’s a fun design for sending a sweet fall greeting.  But you know me … I’m a mini album girl so I always see album options when I see a cut file and this one did not disappoint!

How cute are the pumpkin and flower pieces at the bottom of this lantern?  And that mushroom?  Adorable!!

In addition to using the cut file for the cover shape, I also used it to cut 4 card stock pages for the inside of my album.

Hmmm…this page is a little crooked Traci!  LOL!

I added 4×4 photo mats to each page and added adorable die cuts from the Doodlebug Farmer’s Market collection.  This is why I like minis … I get to incorporate ALL THE THINGS!

I hope my project inspires you to think outside the “box card”.  Not only do you get a wonderful card with Lori’s file, you also get the chance to turn the pieces into a mini album, or add the pieces to a scrapbook page!  Have fun crafting friends!!

Crayon Box Mini Album

Hi friends! Traci here and today, I have a new shaped mini album to share with you. I found a super cute card cutting file of Lori’s called Box Card Back To School Crayons (SVGSilhouette) and thought it would make a fun scrapbook for new school memories! Take a look …

To make it, I used the card file to
cut out 2 white acrylic album covers (5.25″ x 6.75″) in the shape of the box. You could also use cardstock for these instead.

Then, I decorated the front cover with yellow and green paper and Doodlebug’s 6×6
petite prints in gingham and linen for the crayons. How cute!

The
Back To School title is a print and cut design that comes with the file. Perfect! And the enamel stars are sprinkles from Doodlebug’s Hey Pumpkin Collection (all product links below).

For the inside, I cut 4 white cardstock pages (giving me 8 scrapbook layouts) and filled them with the Bella Blvd, School Is Cool Collection. I added 12×12 pattern papers, photo mats, and lots of fun embellishments.

On this page, I created a cute shaped photo mat using a 3 inch scallop circle punch and a 2.5 inch circle punch. Then, I added some die cut pieces from the Ephemera Icons and Words.

I love adding interactive elements to my minis. Here I created a mega flippie using one of the 3×4 cards.

See? It has a few layers with space inside for 4 photos, so … it’s a mega flippie! 😉

This album would be great filled with your child’s or grandchild’s “big memories”. Add pictures of their first day, best friends, teacher, official school photo, classroom, and school bus.

And don’t forget the fun stuff like … class parties, field trips, sports activities, awards, art projects, school plays, lunch time, their science fair project, and recess shenanigans!

Need a gift idea for another student, a teacher, tutor, or the class room mom? This album is a great idea!

The mini album looks so cute displayed on my clear Acrylic Display Stand. Set it out in your child’s room, or … add one to the teacher’s gift so she can feature it in her classroom!

Here is Lori’s Box Card Back To School Crayons cutting file …

I hope this project inspires you create something fun with Lori’s amazing SVG file called Box Card Back To School Crayons (SVGSilhouette). Thanks for stopping by the blog today and happy scrapping! 😊
