Tri Shutter Card Tutorial with Kathy

Hi Everyone! It’s Kathy today with a tutorial showing how to assemble the new Tri Shutter Cards.  Lori has a couple of new Tri Shutter Cards in the shop including the Tri Shutter Card Birthday  (here in the Silhouette Store) and this card, the Tri Shutter Card Baby ( here in the Silhouette Store).  Take a peek…

This card looks complicated, but it’s really easy to assemble.  I started by picking my papers, and cutting the pieces of the card.

Start by folding the base piece, this takes a little thought, but is not difficult.  Here are a couple of views of the piece once folded.

Next, add the decorative panels to the base piece.

Using the print and cut feature of your cutting machine, create the sentiment piece.  A blank sentiment piece is also included if you prefer to customize it.

Assemble the giraffe piece by layering the pieces onto the white base.  The white base then slips behind the lower section of the card base as shown and is glued in place.

To finish the card, add the BABY to the front piece.  I used some foam tape to pop this up a little.

Another great feature of this card is that it folds flat and fits into a standard A2 envelope!

That’s it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Bridal Shower Card with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It’s Kathy today with a fun and quick card I made for a recent bridal shower.  I used one of Lori’s older cards, the Wedding Dress Card (available here in the Silhouette Store )  Take a peek…

The best thing about this card is that it is so easy to customize.  It comes with multiple pieces for the wedding dress including a full dress as well as a separate top and bottom, so you could use different colors or textures if you wish.    I used the full dress piece and ran it through my Sizzix with an embossing folder to give it a lacy texture. I also added a ribbon and enamel dots. The background paper is from the Lori’s new Perfect Princess collection for Echo Park Paper.   It coordinated perfectly with the bride’s color scheme!  That’s it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Violets Card with Courtney

Hello!! This is Courtney Lee from Court’s Crafts here and while I am well aware that this says Happy Mother’s Day and that the day is past – you can EASILY make this card to say “happy birthday”, “thank you”, “with sympathy”, “just sayin’ hi” or “hello friend” etc. I decided to cut this file “as is” so that you could see the beautiful font!

Isn’t this lovely?! The depth of flowers is gorgeous!

I decided to use rhinestones for the center of the flowers and used papers from the Go, See, Explore line (green) and the Let’s Be Mermaid’s line (yellow and purple) – both are collections by Lori Whitlock for Echo Park Paper.

I hope you enjoyed my project for today and that you grab this box for so much more than just  Mother’s Day! This one can be brought out again and again!

Sending Hugs by Lezlye

Welcome to Lori’s Blog! The place for inspiration and tutorials for her amazing files that she creates so generously for us to use.  Today I have an encouragement/feel better card for a friend.  I used the Shaped Box Card Teapot file and the Center Box Card Envelope file.

For papers, I used Echo Park’s Celebrate Easter and Celebrate Spring Collections. As an afterthought I should have coordinated my floral patterns!  🙂

I chose to use pearls in my flower centers instead of the little dots of paper included with the file.   It is nice to add dimensional elements to your cuts. These card go together pretty quickly.

I decided to emboss the scallop pieces to resemble enamel using Versa-mark and white embossing powder and heat. It gives a nice, shiny appearance.

And the finished card folds flat for mailing!

Now to just throw in a few teabags and mail it off!  Have a wonderful day!
