Number Lace for a Birthday Page Tutorial

Hello everyone! Traci here and today, I have a fun 12×12 scrapbook page and simple tutorial to share with you. I wanted to create a layout for a picture of my sweet grandson’s 4th birthday and I found one of Lori’s cutting files that would be perfect for it.

I chose her Number Lace Cutting File (SVGSilhouette). Not only did it have a number 4 on it, but I also loved the positive and negative spaces it created in the background.

Here’s how I made this layout …

1. I added the cutting file to my mat and resized it to 10.75 x 10.75”.  I cut it out of white card stock and set that aside.

2. Next, I used the knife tool to chop down the background into smaller pieces so that I could focus in on the number 4.  I didn’t want to cut the entire background piece again just to get the 4.

3. Once I isolated the 4 in the file, I deleted everything else and cut this section out of orange paper.

4. Then I used my scissors to trim the rest of the paper from around the number.

5. Now that I had the white background and the orange number cut out, it was time to create my layout!

I used the Echo Park, Vroom Collection that was also designed by Lori. I decorated my Race Car Mini Album with it and the colors and patterns were just what I was looking for.

I started with the orange 12×12 pattern called Ready Set Go Stripes as my base and layered the blue Winner Winner print and Ready Racers paper on top. Then, I added the white number lace sheet and I backed each corner with a yellow triangle cut from a solid in the Vroom Collection.

Next, I adhered the orange 4 on top of the white 4 that’s part of the background. I cut some photo mats out of a few other papers from the Vroom Collection and I added my photo.

Then, I finished the layout with lots of fun embellishments. The “Let’s Go” is from the Vroom 12×12 sticker sheet. And the other birthday themed stickers and die cuts are from the Bella Blvd, Birthday Bash Collection.

I hope this project inspires you to create something wonderful with Lori’s Number Lace Cutting File (SVGSilhouette). Until next time, happy scrapping! 😊

Onesie Mini Album

Hi everyone! Back in February 2024, I got a call about a very special little girl coming home from Thailand. She was born at just 26 weeks, and now—over a year later—she’s finally home in South Dakota for the first time. She needed some help to make the trip, and with lots of effort and phone calls, we made it happen.

Now, that little miracle is home, doing well, and she just turned one at the end of March! I had the joy of meeting her, and she completely stole my heart. I made this mini album just for her.

You can find the file here in Lori’s Shop or here in the Silhouette Online Design Store. I used Lori’s Echo Park Birthday Girl Collection. I had so much fun creating this for this little princess. She truly is a miracle, and I hope her parents know how much she has touched my heart and how much I loved being a part of her journey home.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Cards! Tutorial

Hello!  Sue here to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day!

For my tutorial today I am making several easy print and cut birthday cards from Lori’s fun birthday card bundles. I want to make them all!

This really is a fun card!!!
Here you can see the front pieced element. I chose to cut an additional bottom layer to the packages in pink to make the  presents pop more and give it a bit more reinforcement so I could add it to the front with an action wobbler .  I used  the Lori Whitlock’s  Life is Beautiful 6×6 paper pad.
The inside piece is a print and cut. Fold it in half with the sentiment inside
This part is a bit tricky. Its a mountain/valley  sort of thing LOL! What I did to make it real easy is to fold the center back the other way and then from the back pinch each section to crease them.
Here you can see how the insert looks when folded and ready to add to the card.

Glue one side of the insert inside, making sure you align those 5 small folds right at the cardbase fold line. Add glue to the second side and close the card onto the glued insert.
All glued and ready to go!
Both cards are part of the Fabulous Birthday Card Bundle.

You can see all the bundles on Lori’s site.

Here are a just few more to check out:

This was a fun one!
I used Lori Whitlock A Slice of Summer papers for the balloons.
I have made several of these cuties. I cut on six/seven different 6×6 papers and cut ALL the balloons out of each color. Then I’m just playing mixy match for each cards.
Glue the balloons on the back of the print and cut and then flip and glue to the card base. It is very pretty to see in person, it has a nice dimension to it!

80th Birthday Card

Last weekend we got to celebrate the 80th birthday of my fiance’s uncle, Dennis. Perfect oppertunity to make this fun card.

I used the pop up birthday card (SVGSilhouette). I changed the Happy to a writing image rather than a cut. You know me and those little tiny letters. I used papers from the Echo Park Dino-Mite Collection.

Such a fun bright card. The SVG from Lori’s shop comes with birthdays 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 so it’s a versatile SVG that you can use over and over.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!!
