Here Comes the Bride with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It’s Kathy today with some adorable wedding favors from Lori’s Shop!  A very close friend just shared that she’s engaged, and I couldn’t be happier!  I decided to make her a little something to celebrate the happy news, and Lori’s Wedding Favor Boxes were perfect!  (in the Silhouette Store:  Groom, Bride ) Take a peek…

These boxes are so simple to put together, and they each hold a few chocolate kisses or other similar sized candies.   You can keep them simple or add lots of embellishments to fit your style.  I added some shaped sequins for flowers, and some colored pearls to match my ribbon.  You could use these for a bridal shower, as wedding favors or just as a little “I’m so happy for you” gift!  Well, that’s it for me today, thanks so much for stopping by!

Birdhouse Tutorial with Corri

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing a quick assembly tutorial for Lori’s Hexagon Birdhouse with Stand which is one of the 5 Birdhouses Set in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop and available individually in Silhouette here. There are several birdhouses included in the set and they would make great Spring decorations.

Here’s the one I made.

Here are some photos to help you with the assembly.

Here are the pieces as they look when they come out of your machine.

Fold along all score lines and then apply glue to the glue tabs and form the birdhouse and the pole for the base.

Next, insert the pole through the square hole in the bottom of the birdhouse.  Fold down the flaps and glue in place.

Glue the hexagon shaped piece on the inside of the birdhouse to cover glue flaps and reinforce the bottom.

To form the base, fold along all the score lines and then apply glue to the small tabs.  I have the most success when I do these one at time.  Line up the edges of the adjacent panel with the score line.

Insert the other end of the pole through the lid of the base, fold flaps and glue in place.   Now you can attach the top of the base to the bottom  Just like a box with a lid.

Finally, apply glue tab to the cone shaped roof and glue on the top of the house.  I added a small bird die cut and some layered flowers just to dress it up a little.

I hope these pictures help a little.  Sometimes it helps to see step by step pictures.
