5×5 Christmas Mini Album with Traci

Hello everyone! Traci here and today, I have a cute little Christmas scrapbook to share with you titled Eat, Drink, and Be Merry. I made it using one of Lori’s fabulous cutting files called 5×5 Mini Album with Gusset Pages (SVG, Silhouette) and it’s the perfect small size for gift giving this holiday season!

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry Christmas Mini Album

Lori’s files make it so easy to create the sweetest handmade presents and this one was super simple.

The album is made with a cover piece and 3 gusseted pages (which gives you 6 scrapbook pages inside). To start, I cut the base out of white cardstock then decorated the pieces with paper and embellishments from the Bella Blvd, Merry Mingle Collection.

Here is a photo of the gusseted edges. The white pages go in the cover piece and the holes line up perfectly for binding.

I ran 3 strands of twine through the
cover and each page, then tied them in a cute knot on the inside.

Next … the decorating! I layered the pages
with 12×12 pattern papers, photo mats, and colorful embellishments.
And that was it! See? Sooo simple and such a fun project!

Here are the other pages for some holiday inspiration …

While I decorated this mini album in a festive Christmas theme, the cutting file is literally a blank canvas and could be designed with ANY paper collection. Imagine winter, Valentine’s Day, spring, Easter, Mother’s Day, or … anything! I love Lori’s projects … the possibilities are endless. 💕

Mitten Gift Card Holder Tutorial

Hello everyone! Marcia here today. I have a holiday gift card tutorial to share with you today. I love to give gift cards to friends and family so they can buy whatever they want. When gifted in such a pretty package, handmade by you, it’s not the easy last minute gift so many people say they are. This Mitten Gift Card Holder (SVG, Silhouette) cut file can be found in Lori’s Store along with many other varieties of gift card holders. I used the new The Magic Of Christmas collection and also a pink pattern paper from the Our Little Princess collection.

Want to find out how to make them yourself?

1. Choose your papers and cut out all the pieces. I then like to ink the edges of the pattern papers to give the shapes dimension.

2. I wanted to add some sparkle to my snowflakes so I ran them through my sticker maker machine upside-down. This puts the adhesive on the top of the cut file. Then place it adhesive down on top of some glitter.

3. You could glue the sides and bottom of the mitten shut, but I prefer the look of machine stitching. Unlike adhesives that might give way over time, I know the mitten won’t fall apart when stitched.

4. Next, glue the white mitten edge to the upper front and back pieces of the mitten. Use a brad to attach the snowflake to the heart then adhere to the front of the mitten with foam tape.

5. Decorate as you wish. I loved using the puffy stickers and brads from the Magic of Christmas collection. They were just the right size!

6. Then repeat! They are so fun to make you won’t be able to stop. This green plaid mitten with a black heart is perfect for the guys on your list.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to check out Lori’s Store for more holiday ideas.

Valentine Goodies by Mendi and Joy

We have such an amazing Creative Team. They have shared with us many beautiful Valentines Day projects and today is no different. Mendi has this adorable layout for us. She says…

“I had so much fun using Lori’s new Love Story collection and great cutting files on this layout of my little sister’s wedding.  I think it’s become a bit of a personal challenge for me to see how many of Lori’s patterns and cutting files I can fit on a layout without feeling overwhelmingly busy and today I was able to fit 7 different diecuts!  It makes me realize more than ever that next to paper and adhesive, a digital diecutting machine is really a must have tool!   You can see more details about my design at my blog today.”
Here’s a complete list of all the shapes I used:

You Are Loved Phrase  (Silhouette Store)
Next I have a fun project from Joy. This would make an adorable decoration in your home. Joy has great instructions on her blog so be sure and take a peek. Joy says…
What goes great with any Valentine’s decor?  Candles!  I thought it would be fun to use the Kissy Lips file along with the XOXO from the Valentine’s Set to help me set a festive mood.  I cut the lips and XOXO in alternating pink and red vinyl and then applied them to the votive holders, which I found at my local craft store.  Next, I popped in some votive candles and I was all done!  I just love the way they look on my mantel.  Actually, I like looking at them so much that I keep moving them from room to room!  LOL!  You’ll have fun creating with these files too!
