New Halloween Favor Boxes

When I saw these boxes, I knew I had to make them all! They are a very simple box construction, but I know sometimes the placement of the pieces can be tricky. Below you can find placement for three of them that have the most pieces. The trick is to remember you have a top and a bottom and keep your pieces facing the correct way. If you use striped paper make sure to rotate the panel piece when cutting so all the stripes go the same way. (ask me how I know LOL)

I liked how Lori had two little stem pieces for the pumpkin stem so I did the same thing for the witch’s hat. I cut two hats and glued them together. Stick the tabs through the top slot and fold away from each other. I think the hat stands up nicely. 
 I made this little template for gluing on the little rosy cheeks. The two little circles come grouped where they would land on the face of the box. I took one of the basic panel and cut the circle cheeks out using Lori’s spacing. Then I could just center the panel on the face and add dots of glue where the holes were. Works well if you are making lots of boxes and you like everything to line up.

I could not just show the top piece of the box—the bottom box piece is designed just as cute!!!
These boxes may be small, but they are mighty! You can add about 4 pieces of snack size candy inside!

Easter Flower Treat Cups

Our dear friend Kathy Skou from Doodlebug Design is a BIG fan of treat favors and made these adorable flower treat cups from one of my patterns (SVG, Silhouette) and added these cute Bunny and Friends Doodlecuts to the cups. SVG cut files for a similar bunny effect are included in the Doodlebug Bunny Hop Collection. Such a wonderful creation! So fun!
She started by making a few of the bunnies from the Doodle Cuts set and dressed them in fun spring colors using some Doodlebug petite prints.  She then made little flower cups using the flower cup SVG with papers from the Doodlebug Bunny Hop 6×6 pad and then downsized the files to 60%.  The smaller prints are perfect for little projects!  She then attached the bunnies’ paws to the cups using a little hot glue so it looked like they were holding the flowers.

3D Christmas Tree Favor Box Tutorial

Hi there paper crafting friends!  It’s Michelle Starcher, aka the Bookish Designer, hopping onto the Lori Whitlock blog to walk you through the steps to create Lori’s 3D Christmas Tree Favor Box (SVG, Silhouette). This adorable little Christmas tree is perfect for gifting and sure to make your recipient smile.

I used my SIlhouette Cameo 4 to cut the pieces for the 3D Christmas Tree Favor Box. I was able to use paper scraps for the majority of the project. In fact, I only used one piece of “new” paper for the entire project. I used a full-size 12×12 piece of cardstock to cut the pieces to make the tree boxes. Although the file showed the pieces in two different colors of green, I made them the same color. 

 

 

Once all of the pieces were cut, I inked the edges of the patterned paper I used for the tree using Distress Ink.  Next, I used my tape gun to adhere the patterned pieces to the top of the outside tree box as shown below.  (The outside tree box is the bigger of the two green pieces and has two triangles.) Once I had the patterned paper attached, I folded both tree box pieces along the score lines and added adhesive tape to the tabs. Next, I built the two tree boxes by folding along the score lines and attaching the tabs to close the boxes on three sides.

 

Next, I used double-sided adhesive tape to stack the three red circles to create the tree skirt base for the 3D Christmas Tree Favor Box. Then, I built the brown tree trunks using the same method as the tree boxes. Once I folded along the score lines and added adhesive, I put the two tree trunks together. The larger of the two serves as the base, so once I finished putting it together, I adhered it to the center of the red circles.
Before adding my decorations to the front of the tree, I used adhesive tape to attach the second, smaller brown box to the base of the inside tree box. Finally, I used the stars from the cut file along with enamel dots to decorate the front of the tree. If you don’t want to use enamel dots, you can always use the circles that come in the cut file instead.

Watering Can Favor Box Tutorial

Hello everyone, I have a quick and easy tutorial to share with you today! This watering can favor box (SVG, Silhouette) makes such a pretty gift and it’s so simple to put together. I just love making little boxes like this and filling them with candies to give to someone special!

I made a mirror left or right copy of the handle and spout so I could glue them together just to make them a little more sturdy and to have the same paper pattern on both sides.

Here are the pieces cut out and score lines all folded. The patterned paper used here is from Echo Park’s Easter Wishes collection, there are some lovely papers in this collection that can be used for non-Easter projects, the cute little tag I used is from the ephemera frames and tags pack of the collection.

I glued the box together and also glued the handle and spout together folding out the tabs so they can be glued on each side of the box. The blue flower is glued down to the yellow piece first then pink and white last and I added the leaves to the back of the flowers and then glued them to the box.

Back to School Favor Boxes

Hello Crafty Friends! Michelle here with you today to share the cutest little Back to School Favor Boxes.

Aren’t they adorable? The boxes can be used for any occasional, but their sweet little glasses reminded me of back-to-school time. They look ready to study!
