Birdhouse Explosion Box Cut File

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing my version of Lori’s new Birdhouse Explosion Box (SVG, Silhouette).    This box is so cute!  The adorable birdhouse falls open when the lid is removed revealing a bird in the center with a couple of pockets for messages or gift cards. 

I used paper from the Echo Park – Forward with Faith Collection.  The colors in the collection are beautiful and really pop with the black accents.

The cute file includes two print and cut sentiments… “Hello Friend” and “Happy Birthday” but this card would be perfect for so many occasions.  I think it would be really cute as a housewarming card.  You could even add a gift card to one of the pockets.    I decided to leave my sentiment portion empty for now until I decide who to give this to.

These explosion boxes are so fun to make!  They have a huge impact and look like you put a lot of work in.  Stop by the shop to see all the new explosion boxes.

These boxes are easy to assemble, they are very similar to my standard box cards.    I’ve put together some graphics below showing how to put the pieces together.

If you need more help with adding the inserts, my Box Card Video will help, the inserts are done in the same manner.  Once all of the pieces are assembled,  fold the sides of the box up and add the cover.  When the recipient opens the box, the sides will “explode” out for a fun surprise! The baby explosion boxes are made with my Sweet Baby Girl and Sweet Baby Boy paper collections. The unicorn explosion box is made with my Perfect Princess paper collection.
