Dino-mite 4×6 Pocket Page Mini Album Tutorial

Hi everyone!  I just fell in love with Lori’s Echo Park collection, Dino-Mite.  It is just so dang cute with the sweetest images and the colors are just so fun.  I have a coworker who has this little guy who is all about dinosaurs and he just turned two, so I thought I would make a mini for her to document some of their adventures over his Birthday weekend.  I used Lori’s 4×6 pocket page mini album here in the Silhouette Online Design Store or you can find it here in Lori’s Store.  I also didn’t realize Lori already had a tutorial on it, so I’m putting the link here for it also.  I put mine together a little differently, lol.

Lori’s Tutorial

I started by using Echo Park’s Dino Mite Card Stock Pack and cut all of my pages first, two of each color.  Using the cardstock pack gives you two colors, so it works out perfectly when you fold your pages over to create the pockets for a nice contrast.  Just fold on the score-lines, add your adhesive and you have your four pocket pages.  Next, I cut my four smaller pockets from the 6×6 Dino-Mite paper pad, fold on the score-line and add adhesive.  Here’s where I did mine differently, I added these smaller pockets to the back side of each of these pages with the pre-attached pockets.  No biggie there.  Turned out just as cute. Each of these pockets also has an insert that Lori’s has designed to go inside, you can matt your photos on these or add your journaling.  You’ll see those in the finished pictures.  I used the Echo Park matching Dino-Mite Card Stock again for those.

I cut my cover next, again from the Dino-Mite matching Card Stock and then just used book rings to put it all together.  Easy peasy.  On two pages, I added little flaps (like you see below with a photo matt under neath) these are just 4×4 element cards from the Dino-Mite paper pack that I scored at 1/4 inch and added adhesive to create the little flap.  I just dug into the paper pack and used all the goodies from the pack and Dino-Mite frames and tags, Ephemera to embellish my album.

I Love It!
This little flap folds up too!
The little borders you see added here and there are Lori’s, you can find them

Explosion Box Dinosaur Tutorial

Oh my Gosh everyone!  Lori has designed the cutest new collection for Echo Park and I just couldn’t wait to play.  Dino-Mite is just that, dynamite.  The cutest dinosaurs, colors and patterns.  I had so much fun putting my project together and digging through the collection to find all the perfect pieces for my explosion box.  You can find the Dinosaur Explosion Box here in Lori’s Shop or here in the Silhouette Online Design Store.

First, cut all of your pieces. Sort your pieces to make assembly easy.  I started with the lid of the box.

Fold your lid on the score lines to start to create the shape, adhere your patterned paper pieces and then add scor-tape to the tabs.

Adhere your tabs and you’ve now got the lid for your box.

Next, we will create the bottom of the explosion box. On one side you will add the 3 panels for the bottom the box and scor tape on the 5 tabs.  The extra piece you see here is the very bottom of the box, which goes on last.

Flip the bottom of your explosion box over and add the remaining pieces as shown.

Now fold and adhere into a box and add your bottom square.
You should now have this as your base.
Next up is adding the 3 inserts inside the box.  Lori makes the easy for us by numbering them.  Disclosure:  One of my favorite things to do when creating with Lori’s amazing collections is use the darling stickers and elements from the paper packs as part of the card.  I replace some pieces with the stickers.  I just dust the stickers with baby powder.
The original file is darling, I just couldn’t resist these stickers.
Fold on the score line and add scor tape
Insert your pieces next.
Now for the fun part………….EMBELLISH!  This does not fold flat for mailing. So it might have to be hand delivered.
The bow is easy peasy, is just loops together.  You don’t need my assistance here.
Adorable!
Thank you for stopping by today!

Explosion Box Dinosaur

Hi friends! I’m dropping in today to share a cute card for a dinosaur lover.  This explosion box is fun and gives a little surprise when opened (SVGSilhouette). I love box cards like this they can serve as a cute shelf sitter and a fun birthday gift. I made this card for a little boy but I also have a niece that loves dinosaurs and this card would be cute made with pinks, purples, and yellows. I used papers from the All Boy collection and Birthday Boy collection by Echo Park Paper.

That’s all from me today, thanks for being here.
