Last Minute Christmas Gifts with Corri

Hi everyone!  Corri here with some last minute gift ideas.  It always seem like every year I have an oops moment where I realize I have forgotten someone.  These quick and easy project take just a few minutes to put together and are so adorable.

For my Subway Art plate, I purchase this square plate at Wal-Mart and cut Lori’s square subway art file from red vinyl then applied it to the plate.  You can fill this with cookies and your friend will have a wonderful work of art to keep.

I give a lot of give cards to teachers and have lots of the kids in the family.  This mitten gift card holder is so adorable and could be used for a winter birthday as well.

And finally, this Snowman TicTac wrapper is so easy to make and makes a cute stocking stuffer.

Check out Lori’s shop for several other great last minute gift ideas like gum wrapper snowman!

I hope you all have a very, merry Christmas!

Silhouette Tutorial: Adding A Window with Corri

Hi everyone!  Corri here today with a simple tutorial to show you how to add a window and frame to your favorite treat bag.   I just love Lori’s gable box file….it’s so simple to assemble making it great for a last minute gift.

I love having the window in the box so you can get a peek of what’s inside.

To add a window to the box,  I selected a label from this set.

Size the inner shape at 2.5″w (check the aspect ratio box) center it on top of the gable box.

Size the outer label shape to 2.875″w and center the two shapes.  This will cut your frame piece.

I opened the tall pumpkin from this set. After cutting the two pieces,  I welded the stem to the base using the weld feature.  Select both pieces and right click and pull down to weld.

To create a shadow for your pumpkin, select the pumpkin, right click your mouse and pull down to offset.

Candy Corn Treat Box by Corri

Hi everyone!  I love make treat boxes for my kids friends and teachers.

The new Candy Corn Treat Box is so cute and is the perfect size.

I cut the base of the box from black card stock and the decorative panel pieces from

the Carta Bella – Happy Haunting Collection by Echo Park.

I embellished the box with a small rosette  and used one of the stickers from the collection for my sentiment.

I love how these papers give the box a more elegant look which would make this great for an adult.  You could make it more playful and cute by selecting a more whimsical paper.

Silhouette Tutorial by Corri: Thanksgiving Labels

Today we have Corri sharing these beautiful Thanksgiving labels, take it away Corri…

Hi everyone!  We always host Thanksgiving Dinner at our house and set it up buffet style.  I thought it would be fun to have some cute signs to label all the yummy dishes.

I started with this bracket label.   I re sized it to 4″h x 4-1/2″w (make sure the aspect ratio box is NOT checked)

Then on the replicate menu along the top select fill page.

This feature allows you to adjust the size of the cut to make sure you get as many as possible from one 12 x 12 sheet.   The bracket points on the left and right make it very easy to line this up for scoring.

I cut some pumpkins and flag shapes to add to my buffet markers for a useful and easy way to dress up Thanksgiving dinner.

These could also be used as place markers or treat bag toppers. You could add some candy or a cookie to a bag and then staple this to the top.  The paper I used here is from the Echo Park – Reflections Collection that Lori designed.

Cropping in Silhouette Studio by Corri

Hi everyone!  I have a simple tutorial for you today using a new tool I recently discovered in Silhouette Studio.  It’s the crop feature and it’s super easy to do but very useful.  I used it to make a quick and easy name tag for my daughter’s backpack.

First, open this tag and border on your mat. I resized the tag to 5″w. Make a duplicate of your tag.

Line the the border up on top of your tag.

Select both items and then go to the Modify menu in the upper left of your screen.

Click on Crop.

It trims your border to fit perfectly along the edge of your tag.

I typed  Olivia using Lori’s Happy Font and embellished my tag with this butterfly and a sticker from the

Here and Now Collection that Lori designed for Echo Park.

I laminated it to make it more durable….so it was a little hard to photograph but it turned out very cute! I will be using the crop feature a lot.  It’s perfect for trim border for cards that have an unusual shape.  I also think it would be cute to trim a grass border to fit perfectly along the edge of an Easter egg.
