Santa Shaped Card with Corri

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!  Corri here today sharing a fun shaped card made with Lori’s Santa Face file. Here’s how I made it.

First, ungroup the pieces and drag them off your mat.    Drag the beard portion onto your mat and then click on the replicate menu along the top. Click on mirror above.

Next, select the top beard and move it down slightly.  Select both pieces and the right click and select weld.

Now you have your card base. Next, cut all the layers including an additional white beard piece.   To add some texture to the card, I embossed this layer.

I used paper from the Christmas Cheer Collection from Echo Park Paper.  Such a fun card and it goes together really quickly.

Be sure to check out all the new Christmas files in Lori’s SVG shop and Silhouette Shop.

School Set with Corri

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing a fun gift set for the first day of school.  My daughters first grade teacher is new and is hoping to build her library.  I thought it would be fun to put a Barnes and Noble gift card inside this fun pencil box.

I used the new pencil shaped box and square center step card to create this fun and easy set.  The paper is all from Echo Park.  Stop by Lori’s shop to check out all the new step cards that she just added!

Sand Pail Shaped Box with Corri

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing my adorable sand pail shaped box.   Lori just added several of these adorable shaped boxes.  They are so simple to assemble and there’s one for every occasion.  I love them!

I used paper from the Summer Bliss Collection that Lori designed for Echo Park Paper.  To create the “sand” on the base of my pail, I used the crop feature in Silhouette Studio to trim a rectangle and then ripped the top edge before gluing in place.

This would be so cute filled with a travel size sunscreen and some sunglasses.

Be sure to head over to Lori’s shop to check out all the new shaped boxes.

Valentines Mailbox with Corri

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing my version of Lori’s new Valentine’s Day Mailbox.

I used paper from American Crafts – XOXO Collection and embellished the front with one of Lori’s pretty doily hearts.   This finished mailbox is pretty big….8″h x 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″deep.  This would be so fun to give to a teacher so kids could drop in some Valentine’s notes.    There is room on the mat to make this box a little bigger.  At a larger size, this would work as a card box for a birthday party or wedding.   I just love how it turned out and it’s very easy to assemble!

Silhouette Tutorial: Stitching with Corri

Corri here today to show you a quick tutorial for creating stitching holes with your Cameo.

The first thing I did was create a rectangle that is 5.25″h x 4″w.  I opened Lori’s 11 hearts file and selected a heart to use on my card.   I resized the heart to 3″h (keep aspect ratio).

Next, using the alpha tool, I typed some periods in Times New Roman at 36 points.

Grab the toggle button in the bottom left corner of the text box and drag it until it touches the heart.

The text (dots) will form along the edge of the heart.

Continue typing periods until the edge of the heart is completely filled.

Finally, select the heart and click on the cut settings menu (scissor icon) and select “no cut”.

Now when you cut the rectangle you will have tiny holes in the shape of a heart that you can thread with twine.

I used pattern paper and some sticker elements from the Echo Park – Head over Heels Collection.

This technique could be used for many types of projects and would be really cute with some “sewing” sentiments.  For example, I love you “sew” much.
