Flat Front Shutter Card Birthday

Hello Everyone:

Anita here with a fun and easy tutorial for the Flat Front Shutter Card Birthday which you can find here in Lori’s store and here in the Silhouette Design Store.  I used one of Lori’s brand new Echo Park lines called Sweet Baby Girl.  It was perfect for a soft and feminine card.

Here are all the pieces.  There are several that are small so remember to keep track of them.

I put together the pieces of the card and  glued everything down before I started folding.  It is much easier to work on the folds that way.

Your first step is to crease the fold to the right of the cake and you will be folding it so it pops up when lying flat.

I held the card in my left hand and pressed gently down on the middle score line with my left hand and held it in place while I used my right hand to score it across the fold.  You will be creating a valley fold here.  As you can see the folds on the top and bottom of that section just naturally pop up the way that they are supposed to be creating hill folds.

I folded up the right side of the card and used a bone folder to gently strengthen my score marks.  On the smaller pieces you will be scoring through two of the folds.

Here is a view from the top so you can see exactly what it should look like.

Lastly, here is the closed card and as you can see it lays flat and can be popped in an A2 envelope to be sent off to someone sweet.

Thanks for looking and be sure to check out Lori’s shop for more great cards of this type.

Anita

Scottie THANK YOU Cards

Hello, Crafty Friends!! It’s Design Team Member, Mitsyana, back to bring you these quick and easy (and  SUPER CUTE) Scottie Thank You Cards.

In light of current events, sitting her crafting during Hurricane Harvey, I am compelled to make Thank you cards. It’s always a good thing to tell people just how grateful you are. Even a little gratitude goes a long way!

These Scottie Thank You(s) come together so quickly that I was able to make them in different colors! I like being able to have an arsenal of cards at my disposal at any given moment!

To make these I used Lori Whitlock’s A2 Cutout Scottie Dog file. (here in the Silhouette Store)

I opened the file using my Sizzix ecal software and grouped the pieces by color for easier cutting. It helps with out having to reload the mat for each color used. And as long as all the pieces fit on my mat I can cut them all at once.

I decided not to use the pre-scored card that came included because I wanted to change the direction the flap opened. So, I removed it off of my virtual cutting mat.

The card front is sized to a standard A2 card so me changing the direction of the card fold will not affect the overall look or assembly of the card whatsoever.

I cut all my paper using my Sizzix eclips machine. Then used my Xyron Mega Runner to layer and adhere the pieces together.

I used a glue pen to attach Scottie’s little bow then added highlights to it using a white gel pen.

I used a fine-tipped black ink pen to draw stitch lines around the perimeter of the stamp-shaped card mat.

I pieced the tiny flag sentiment together then added stitch lines along that as well.

Once the card front was pieced together I used my Mega Runner to attach it to my card base. This time the card flaps from top to bottom instead of side to side.

As a last minute touch, I added a little glitter enamel dot to the center of Scottie’s bow for a little bling.

Here is the finished card…

And it was so super easy to make that I decided to make it in other colors as well!

It looks great in brown!

And it’s absolutely fabulous in teal!!

These are so much fun to make!

I think I need to make much more… I have many people I want to send thanks to but this is a great start!

Hope you enjoyed my project for today!

“Thanks” for stopping by!!

Baby Insta-Cube Card

Anita here with a card that Lori created that is just so easy to put together and will have the recipients saying, “oooh and aaaah.”  I used Lori’s new cut file called Insta-Cube Card Baby which you can find here in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop and here in the Silhouette Store.  She has other designs of this adorable box card and  a fabulous tutorial which shows you how easily assemble the files.  Here is the link to the tutorial on Lori’s YouTube Channel.  For papers,  I used Lori’s new Echo Park Collection called Perfect Princess.

Here is the box with the card most of the way out.

When you pull the card all the way out of the box it pops into a cube.  You will have to watch the tutorial to see the secret on how this pops open on its own.

Here is the second side of the cube.

That’s it for me today.  Thanks for looking and have a great week.

Hugs,

Anita

Confirmation Stand Up Card

Anita here with a really easy card to make that comes with an envelope and is stunning.  It is called 3D Stand Up Card: Easter Cross and you can find it here in Lori’s Silhouette Store.  It is perfect for all those first communions and confirmations that usually happen this time of year.  This is for my nephew who made his confirmation on Saturday.  I used Lori’s brand new Echo Park line called Go.  See.  Explore. to create the card.  I also used some letters from the I Love Family Alpha Sticker Set and used some of her brads from the I Love Winter and Go.  See.  Explore lines and an enamel on the card from the Go.  See.  Explore collections also.  Lori’s collections all mix and match so you are able to combine papers and embellishments from various collections to achieve the look you desire.

Here is a close up of the card.

The cut file to make the envelope is part of this set and so easy to put together.

I used a sticker from Lori’s Echo Park I Love Family collection to seal the envelope closed.  That’s it for me today.  Be sure to check out Lori’s store and her Silhouette Store for all your spring and summer card and gift needs.

Hugs,

Anita
