Wedding Anniversary Card

Hi Everyone:

It’s my 35th wedding anniversary today and I made this card for my wonderful husband to celebrate our love.  We had a wonderful European cruise planned to celebrate but given these uncertain times we had to cancel.  We are looking forward to trying again in 2021.  In the meantime, we plan a quiet celebration.  I have no idea where the time has gone though.  I used Lori’s Pop Out Card Heart which you can find here in her SVG Shop and here in the Silhouette Design store.  I also used Whole Heart Whole Life Saying which you can find here in Lori’s SVG Shop and here in the Silhouette Design store for my sentiment.  I used Lori’s new Echo Park Paper line called All Boy to create the card.  This card folds flat and fits nicely into an A2 envelope.

I took the Whole Heart Whole Life sentiment and shrunk it to fit in the center of my heart.  I then grouped that together and used it as a print and cut sentiment with the registration marks turned on in my Silhouette Cameo.  When I went to cut the heart out after it was printed, I ungrouped it and moved the sentiment off the mat.  I cut out the heart and it came out perfect.

My husband really appreciates home made cards and in this time where it is harder to get out to buy what we want, don’t forget that Lori has cards and gift giving items for every occasion in her store.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Hugs,

Anita

Mother’s Day Explosion Box Teacup Tutorial

Hi Everyone:

Anita here with a tutorial for Lori’s Explosion Box Teacup for Mother’s Day.  You can find this file here in Lori’s SVG shop and here in the Silhouette Design store.  I used Lori’s new Echo Park collection called All Girl.  This card makes such a stunning statement and Lori has several other explosion box designs as well.

I made extra flowers and used two to put on top of my box.

Here is a photo of the box when it has exploded open.  It’s just so pretty.

Here are the pieces that I cut out.  I ended up cutting out extra flowers and cut two more extra square panels, one I put under the tea cup and one in the box lid.

I put the inside of the box together and the cover as well.  I would recommend that if you are planning to put gift cards in the pockets that you put the card in and then put the pocket where you need it to be so that it will close nicely.  I popped  up the hearts and the messages for Mom.

These are the pieces for the saucer for the teacup.

These are the pieces for the teacup itself.

These are the handle pieces for the teacup.

Starting at the top left I took photos of the process of putting together the teacup.  There is a tab on one end of the cup piece and you glue just up to the tab.  I used wet glue for the best hold.  I then took the smaller perforated circle and glued it inside the bottom of the teacup.  Next, I glued on the handle to the teacup.  Bending both tabs and using wet glue again for the best hold.  Similarly there is a tab on one end of the saucer which you need to glue together.  Then I attached the larger perforated circle to the bottom of the saucer.   Once everything was good and dry I glued the teacup to the center of the saucer.

I then set about to rolling my flowers.  I just love doing this and had fun.  There are so many different ways to roll the flowers.  I have photos where I started rolling one flower with a skewer to get it going in a round shape and another one where I used a flower roller which I bought a long time ago.  My fellow Creative Team member, Corri Garza has a tutorial and how she rolls her flowers that is on Lori’s Blog and can be found here.  I used leftover Easter grass to fill my cup so that the flowers would stay in. You could also add a small styrofoam ball in the bottom and attach the flowers to it.   Thank you so much for looking and have a great day. Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mothers out there and very special wishes to a certain mom to be.

Anita

Box Card Easter Flower Crate

Hi Everyone:

Anita here from MA where we are practicing social distancing and trying to help end this pandemic.  My creative endeavors have kept me going while having to be at home so much.  Lori has lots of wonderful cut files that you can easily whip up to bring some joy to a friend or loved one.  I created this Box Card Easter Flower Crate which was so easy to put together and as you can see in the second photo, folds flat for mailing.  You can find this cut file here in Lori’s SVG shop and here in the Silhouette Design store.  I used some of Lori’s Echo Park collections including her newest ones called All Boy and All Girl.  I also used My Favorite Christmas, My Favorite Winter and Easter Wishes.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Pop Up Box Card St. Patrick’s Jar Shaker Tutorial

Anita here with a tutorial to make Lori’s lovely cut file for the Pop Up Box Card St. Patrick’s Jar into a shaker card.  You can find the SVG file here in Lori’s shop and here in the Silhouette store.

Here is a photo of the parts of the card after I cut them out.  I cut a piece of overhead projector plastic the same size as the jar.  I used the rectangle shape tool in Silhouette to cut out the center of my green plaid jar top piece for the window.  I also cut an extra jar out of black and trimmed it even with the top of the lid so that you could see the details in the jar cover.  Those are shown glued down in this photo.

Next, I took the green dot jar piece and used foam tape to create both height and space for the shaker materials as you can see from the photo below.

I started to assemble the card which is very easy to put together. (Lori has a Pop Up Box Card Tutorial Here)   I tend to use a wet adhesive as at first it is forgiving and you can move the pieces around a bit and then it holds better than regular adhesive.  I lined up the pieces and then closed the card to make sure everything was where I wanted it.  Here are some photos of the embellished card parts. I added the transparency piece behind the plaid jar outline to create a window.  I filled my shaker with extra shamrocks from the cut file and some sequins.  After filling the jar, I peeled the adhesive from the foam tape and placed the jar with the window on top.   I love how festive it is.

Lastly here is a photo of the card when it is closed.  Lori has many wonderful St. Patrick’s Day files which you can whip up quickly to brighten someone’s day.  Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Print and Cut Valentine Gnomes

Hi Everyone:

  1. Anita here with a fun and cute print and cut Valentine set I made for a dear friend of mine.  I used Lori’s Print & Cut Valentine Gnomes SVG file which you can find here in her SVG store and here in the Silhouette store.  I ungrouped the Valentines and used sticker paper to make the matching stickers which she can use to seal the envelopes.  This set will be a great gift and would be great for classroom Valentine’s as well.  Below you can see the three Valentines that are included in the file and the two different sticker types that I made.  I used Silhouette sticker paper but there are many other brands out there.

That’s it for me today.  Have a great day.

Hugs,

Anita
