Valentine’s Boxes

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! My design team has been working on some cute Valentine’s packaging ideas. Today I have projects from both Joy and Natalie to share with you!

The first box was created by Joy Dickson.  I love the patterns and colors Joy chose for her boxes. I also love the little sentiments she added. What a fun way to present a gift! This “Candy Box” is made out of a single 8.5×11 sheet of paper! Here’s what Joy has to say:

“Today I used Lori Whitlock’s great Candy Box 3D file and some bits of soft and pretty floral ribbon to create these romantic and useful boxes.  I cut the boxes out using my Silhouette Cameo.”

The second project is by Natalie Graham and is a darling way to package candies or treats for Valentine’s Day. This is the largest candy box that I offer right now. It holds 6 of the scalloped divider boxes inside. But, I have candy boxes that hold 4, 3, 2, and 1 divider as well. So, no matter how big or small you’d like to make your box… there should be one that’s just the right size. Here’s what Natalie has to say:

“Now who wouldn’t love one of these – a sweetheart, a child, maybe a teacher?  It looks a little intimidating, but it was a quick project. I used Lori’s 6 candy box found here and her heart shapes found here.  And thanks for a fantastic store called the Bulk Barn – filling it with coordinating treats made it a breeze!”

Thanks Joy and Natalie for sharing these absolutely darling projects with us! Feel free to leave comments letting Joy and Natalie know what you think of their sweet projects : )
I’m off to CHA tomorrow. I’ll post again when I get back. Oh, and next week… on Thursday… we have a Design Team Blog Hop scheduled. So, make sure you drop by for the fun!
Have a great weekend!

Echo Park Sneak Peek

I’ve been busy designing quite a few new collections for Echo Park Paper. I’ve seriously been SO EXCITED to share something with you!! Echo Park released just a couple of layouts and the logo for one of the new collections that I designed called This & That. This & That is a “dual” collection with both a masculine and feminine side.

The layout on the left uses paper and embellishments from “Charming,” the first part of the twin collection. The layout on the right uses paper and embellishments from “Graceful,” the second part of this collection. There are so many fun patterns and embellishments to this huge collection and I can’t wait to show the rest of it to you!  Keep your eyes open. It should be on their site on Sunday. I’ll post more upon my return from CHA.

Featured Projects

I wanted to say how impressed I am by all the darling projects using my cutting files and paper products that I see when I look around! I’d like to start sharing these when I find them here on my blog. Today I have three super cute box projects that I thought you might enjoy seeing. Hopefully these projects will help get the wheels turning and get you excited to create some fun boxes this winter and Valentine’s holiday.

The first project I have for you today is a super cute rendition of my “Adorable Box” by Jen Davis. I love the awesome red snowflake and red bow that Jen added. Just lovely.

The second project is a an awesome example of how cute my Candy Box with 4 dividers inside can be. This project is by Kelly Booth. Those candies look so delicious! Thank you, Kelly, for sharing this with us! And, just so you are aware, there are several sizes of the candy box that I offer. Just to clarify… they all fit the same size scalloped inserts. The scalloped inserts are separate little boxes that slip inside the larger box and act as a liner for your candy/treats. In my shop all the boxes come with the liner file. In the Silhouette Store, the boxes and the liner are separate downloads. But, the good news is… once you have the liner, it fits inside all the different candy boxes that I offer.

And, while we’re talking about how cute Kelly’s box is… she also created this darling box that holds the cutest little cards she made. Be sure to check out her original post HERE to see the whole project.

I hope you’re all doing well and having a fabulous January. I’ve been quite for a few days because my hubby and I took the kids on a vacation last week. It was so relaxing to get away with just my family for a few days and focus on them. I’m back in full swing now and am gearing up for CHA this weekend! I’m so excited to go to the show this year!! I’m releasing 4 new collections with Echo Park Paper at the show! I’ll be at the Echo Park booth… so if you’re there MAKE SURE you stop by and say “HI”!! I would love to meet each of you!

All of the files listed in today’s post can be found in my portfolio in the Silhouette Online Store if you’re a Silhouette user. And, if you use a different cutting machine, you can find them in my online shop here:

Candy Box
Scalloped Closure Box
Card Box (to be added to the shop on Wed.)

Have a great day!

Cute Valentine Hearts and a SALE!!

I have three items of business this morning… First off. I’ve decided to have a 25% OFF SALE!! Use code LW25 at checkout to receive the discount until midnight. Just so you’re aware, some customers have been having trouble with receiving their files from the auto-generated download link email. Please rest assured that I’ll make sure everyone receives their files and that they are working for you. Do not respond to the email that arrives with your auto-generated links… I don’t get those emails (I’m not sure where they go… but not to me… lol). Make sure you email me directly at info@loriwhitlock.com with any order problems. I’ll take care of your order ASAP (usually within the hour if it’s during the day). I am working on a better “store” option. However, this may take me a couple months to figure out.

Second item of business…. DT member Corri has a darling set of heart boxes she’s created to share with us. These will make great little Valentine’s gifts. My daughters and I will have to make some! Here’s what Corri has to say:

“I used Lori Whitlock’s Heart Box file. I love this box!  It’s so simple to assemble….it cuts in one piece and all you have to do is add glue on two tabs and attach a ribbon.  Lori has a YouTube channel now with tutorials for some of her boxes.  I used Echo Park’s For the Record which was desgigned by Lori.  This is one of my all time favorite paper collections….it’s so versatile you can use it for all types of projects.

For this box, I cut  Lori’s Lock and Key file and the included heart to dress it up.  I attached key with a little rhinestone brad.

And, the last item of business…

Today I released a digital collection over at Design House Digital called “Kiss Me” just in time for your Valentine’s projects. And it’s 30% OFF TODAY ONLY! Go check it out HERE.

Thanks for visiting!
