Believe in the Magic Card–Back to School Style Tutorial

It’s that time of year around here when kids are heading back to school. Is it a magical time for them? I hope so. In the spirit of Back to School and the magic of a new school year, I’m sharing a card tutorial using vinyl. I’m using this Believe in the Magic card found in the SVG shop, and Silhouette store.

First, cut all the pieces in vinyl. And then weed the designs.

Now we start building the card. It is helpful to have a picture of the card to help you layer the pieces. I used transfer tape for some of the pieces, but for many of the pieces I just places them like placing a sticker. It was really fast since all the vinyl is adhesive.

Tip: After this first luggage outline piece, you should place the bird cage.

Add the details to the suitcases.

Keep layering the pieces.

What a fun card to put together. When placing vinyl on paper, you want to use transfer tape that isn’t too sticky. That way it comes away from the paper easily. Hope you enjoy trying out making a card with vinyl.

Happy August, everyone! Welcome to our August 2023 Creative Team Blog Hop! The creative team has some cute new projects to share with you that will get you excited to craft this month!! Back to school is just around the corner and with that we will hopefully have more crafting time. However, this year back to school will be different because I’m sending my youngest child off to COLLEGE! How did that happen already!! In fact, we will be helping her move into her new apartment in just 12 short days. I’m sure many of you have been through this and you know all the emotions. I’m super excited for her, but at the same time I’m not sure about having an empty nest. Anyone who knows my youngest, Ashlyn, knows that she’s pure joy to be around, so I will miss her presence in our home. All I can say is thank heavens for smart phones so we can talk often. Thanks for listening to me and please feel free to leave your best advise about empty nesting if you’d like as I might need it in the next few days.

Shaped Card Lemon

Hi there crafty friends! Today I am sharing the Shaped Card Lemon (SVG, Silhouette). I like making cards like this in batches. They are quick and easy to assemble and are great for when I need some craft therapy! Cards like this also come in handy when I need to send a quick note to someone. I pulled out all my summer papers and embellishment. Most of the stickers came from the A Slice of Summer sticker book by Echo Park Paper Co. and a few from the Here Comes the Sun sticker book.
