Valentine’s to share with you

Hi everyone!  Cathy here with you today and I have a couple of Valentines to share with you.  Valentine’s Day is just right around the corner and Lori has lots of fun new files in her shop and lots of other Valentine files that make creating ideas for this romantic day almost endless.  You can check out all of Lori’s files here.

I used her new Heart Gift Bag file along with Carta Bella’s Amour Collection.  So cute and went together in a matter of minutes.  The perfect size to hold Hershey Kisses or any other small little treats.

Next I made a box card…I love these, they are just so much fun and they are a delight for the recipient.  They fold flat and fit into an A2  envelope for mailing.  I used the A2 Box Card Valentine XO file.  All of theses box card files are color coded, so they are super easy to make.  Just fold on the score lines, glue and you have the cutest little card ever.  I used the Amour collection from Carta Bella for this project too!  So many fun little details for all of these box cards.

We would love to see what you create with Lori’s files for Valentine’s Day, feel free to share them on Lori’s Facebook page which you can find here.

I have some good news for all the Cricut crafters out there!! I have just launched a brand NEW All Occasion Box Card Cartridge with Cricut!  I’m so thrilled that Cricut invited me to create this cartridge and I hope you all enjoy it. The All Occasion Box Card Cartridge is aptly named—there’s one for every occasion.  Here are a few of the fun cards on this cartridge:

The cartridge is full of everything you need to make some fabulous cards.  It contains 30 box card designs and coordinating envelopes.  The cards are ideal for birthdays, seasons, graduation, weddings and everything in between!  The cartridge is good for use with all Cricut® electronic cutting machines.   And, did I mention the cartridge is on SALE for $19.99 for a limited time? Go get it HERE for this price while you can!

Here’s a video showing assembly instructions:

Currently the cards are coming into Design Space smaller than original size. Cricut is working on a fix for this. In the meantime, please refer to the key below. This shows the height that each card needs to be scaled to in order for them to turn out as an A2 sized card.

Have a great day!

If you’re a Silhouette crafter, you can find plenty of box card designs in my Silhouette store here.

If you’re looking for SVG files you can find them here.

Have a great day and HAPPY CRAFTING!!!

XOXO Scalloped Rosette Banner with Kathy

Hi Everyone, it’s Kathy today with a tutorial on how to piece together Lori’s new XOXO Scalloped Rosette Banner.  I loved this banner the moment I saw it and wanted to create it for my front door!

I started by cutting 4 of each of the banner back pieces, and one set of X’s and O’s.

I like to add a little dimension to my projects so I adhered the two background triangles together using some foam tape.

Next, I started making the rosettes.  Rosettes are not hard, they just take a little patience.  I fan-folded the rosette strips using the score lines as my guide.

I then attached the two ends of each strip using some liquid adhesive.  I use a quick drying adhesive when making rosettes, it gives you a little wiggle room if you make a mistake (unlike hot glue) and it holds well without taking forever to dry.

To make the rosette, add some liquid adhesive to one of the small circles.  Place the glued, fan-folded strip over the circle (make sure the scalloped edges are on the bottom) and press the top of the glued, fan folded strip towards the center and down.

You may need to play with it a little to get it to be the shape you want.  This is where the patience comes in… you need to hold it down for a little until the glue is dry enough to hold.

Once it is dry enough, put the larger circle on the front of the rosette, let dry.

All that is left is to assemble each of your banner pieces.  I glued the completed rosettes onto the banner pieces, and then added the XOXO letters to each piece using foam tape for more dimension.

I tied my pieces together using some Chunky twine and it’s all ready to go on my door!

That’s it for me today.  Don’t forget that Lori is  having a sale in her SVG shop this week!  Use code JAN2016 and get 30% off your entire order! It’s perfect timing to stock up on Valentine’s Day goodies!

Have a great day!
