Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

Hi Everyone!  It’s Kathy today with a fun project that would make a great gift for a friend or hostess this holiday season!  I don’t love the snow, but I do love snowmen, so I decided to build one of my own… take a peek…

This fun little guy went together really quickly, and is a great way to package some small gifts such as candies or baked goods…. I started with Lori’s 3D Scalloped Party Favor Box (here in the Silhouette Store)  I cut one from black cardstock.  I then resized it to 130%, 160% and 190% and cut each one from white cardstock. (be sure to re-size from the original-sized box each time)

I then assembled all of the boxes.

Next, I cut some of the pieces of the Square Gift Box with Bow (here in Silhouette Store) and the Snowman Pocket Gift Card Holder (here in Silhouette Store)  to use as embellishments for my snowman.

Now for the fun part… assembling the snowman!  I started with his hat…  First I glued on the holly leaves, and added some enamel dot holly berries.  Make sure to adhere them only to the top of the box so that you can open and close it easily.  I then glued the box bottom to the middle of a 4″ circle of black cardstock.

For the face, I glued on the carrot and added enamel dot eyes and mouth on the smallest white box.

To assemble the scarf, first glue the two bow pieces back to back.  I did this so that when I fold it over, both sides are the red Polka dot.  Next, fold that piece over the middle of one of the scored pieces and glue as shown.. Add both scarf pieces to the top of the cover of the middle-sized white box.

Lastly, I added some buttons to the bottom of the cover of the middle box and to the largest box as shown.

Finally, assemble the snowman by adding a couple of small glue dots between the boxes to hold them in place, while still allowing them to be opened.  All that is left is to fill each of the boxes with a small gift or goodie and give it to someone special!

That’s it for me today!  Thanks for stopping by to peek!
