Hi everyone! It’s Tya up on the blog today! Hopefully you all had a wonderful October with all the Halloween festivities and fun that goes along with that! We are officially in November – one of my favorite months! Not only is it my birthday month, but I just love Thanksgiving! What a wonderful time it is to meet with friends and family and take time to reflect on all we are thankful for. I decided for my link up we will focus on giving thanks! Whether that is a festive Thanksgiving project or simply a beautiful thank you card to someone special – you decide!

For my project this month, I decided to add to my Thanksgiving decor and do a charger plate with one of Lori’s beautiful sayings on it. Here is the project-

I used some vinyl for the saying.I used this one- Give Thanks Vinyl

Lori has a few other great sayings in her shop that would be wonderful to use on a charger plate. Check some of them out over on her Shop. I added a few enamel dots from the Story of Fall enamel dot set to the flourish part of the saying for an added pop.

I added a couple of lovely 3 dimensional flowers to my plate. I used this flower and this flower. The Sunflower has a brad from the Story of Fall Collection Decorative Brad set in the middle. To finish off the plate, I added a thin twine rope with some hot glue to the plate.

That’s all there is to it ! This would make a great hostess gift if you are going to someone’s home for dinner, or just do as I did and add it to your own home decor.

We would love to see your “Giving Thanks” themed projects.  Just link up your project using any of Lori’s files for your chance to win!

Slider Window Card – Assembly Tutorial

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing a quick assembly tutuorial for the new Slider Window cards.

I used the Story of Fall Collection from Echo Park to make the turkey version of this card.  The card has a tab that you pull to reveal your sentiment.  They are so fun!

Here’s how to put them together.  When you cut out the card you will have these pieces.

The first step is assemble your turkey.  Next apply the mat (orange layer) to the card base (brown layer).

Next, apply your sentiment panel to the front of the card.  Use the window panel (wood grain) to line it up before gluing in place.

Apply adhesive to the outer edges of the window panel and glue down.  You don’t want adhesive too close to the window so your slider (floral piece) can slide freely up and down.

Finally, side the slider all the way down into the window, covering your sentiment area.  The window panel has a perforated edge on the bottom, fold that up and apply a strip of adhesive to the back side.  Press down firmly to adhere that strip only to the slider panel. When you pull up on the tab, you will have a pop up area to attach your turkey to.

Such a fun interactive card!  Anyone would love to receive this!

Be sure to check out all the fabulous new files that Lori recently added to the store.

A Spooky Pumpkin with Cathy

Happy October!  I love Halloween crafting, it’s my absolute favorite time of year to create.  Lori has so many amazing Halloween SVG files in her shop and in the Silhouette Online Design Store, that you can create til your heart is content!  I picked up this black pumpkin at Target and knew instantly that I wanted to add a vinyl word in white to really make it pop!

I chose Lori’s 4 Halloween Titles and chose the Spooky word.  I used the vinyl setting on my Silhouette and it turned out perfectly.  I added a adorable little ghost from Lori’s new Cat, Ghosts and Web SVG file.

It’s a super simple project but makes a big impact on my Halloween Mantle and the bonus is that these pumpkins last forever!

Mini Album with Gusset Tutorial with Corri

Hi everyone!   Corri here today to show you how to assemble the 5×5 Mini Album with Gusset Pages.  This is such a cute mini album and it’s pretty easy to put together.

First, cut out all the pages and the cover panels.  Once you have them all glued together, this is what you will have.

Next, cut 3 long pieces of twine…about 18 inches long.  I cut mine long just to make sure I had enough.

Thread one piece of twine through one of the top and bottom holes of your cover.

Repeat this step with all all three pieces of twine.

Next, thread one piece of twine through the holes in one of the pages and tie in a knot.

Repeat with all three pages.

Here’s out it looks on the outside.  I love it! I used the new Story of Family Collection that Lori designed for Echo Park.

This little album is so cute and would make a great brag book for Grandma!  Be sure to stop by the shop to see all the new files.  There are several new mini albums.

Adding interest with Sketch Pens

Hi everyone!  Cathy here with you today and I have a couple of fun baby projects to share with you .  I added a bit of texture and interest to two of the projects using my Silhouette Sketch Pens.  First up, I have Lori’s new Baby Gift Card Holder, so cute and easy with this adorable little pouch for the gift card to pop up!  I add the Diamond Hatch fill on white textured  card stock using a bright pink Silhouette Sketch pen.  This is so easy to do and I love the look.

Simply go to the Sketch section on your Silhouette and  click on the Fill Sketch that you wish, on both projects I used the Diamond Hatch.  All of these fill sketches are fun.  I encourage you to experiment with different ones.  You can easily  add a whole new look to your project.  I also love using the continuous Edge Sketch to my projects, from circles to titles, it’s a fun one!

Here’s the inside of the gift card holder, so easy to put together.

And here’s that adorable little pop up pouch to hold your gift card.  Too cute!

I have another project to share with you using this same technique, this time I used Lori’s Center Step Card.  You can see the layered flower in the background that I used this technique.  These flowers are from Lori’s 3 mix and match flowers set.  I cut one with the patterned paper and added the outline and the second layer I used white textured card stock and the Silhouette Sketch Pen in bright pink.

Here’s a close up of the flower before I added it to my card.  So fun!

My next little project doesn’t have a special technique but it is one of Lori’s new files and it was just too cute not to share with you!

It is the  3 D no glue suitcase!  This little cute box is perfect for a gift card too.  So easy and it holds together securely with no glue.  Gotta love that!

Thank you for joining us today!
