St. Patrick’s Day Tees

Happy Monday from Las Vegas!! While I’m enjoying some (hopefully) sunshine on vacation, I’m leaving you with these little shirts I made for my grandbabies for St. Patrick’s day.

Baby J (who is actually 2 1/2) will get the little No Pinching shirt and Miss Mary will get the Lucky Little Lady tee.
I used the No Pinching image (SVG, Silhouette) for Baby J’s shirt. I used green and gold glitter iron on for this shirt (which I’ve learned is really hard to photograph).
For Miss Mary’s tee I used the Lucky Little Lady image (SVG, Silhouette). I did move the large shamrock on this tee because the only little girls tee I could find had some embroidery on it, so I used the large shamrock to cover that up.
Again, I used some pink and green glitter iron on to make this shirt sparkle.

Big Tea Towel Bundle Christmas Gifts

Happy Monday everyone! I needed some quick office gifts so I ran to the Dollar Tree for some pot holders and whisks and made these cute little pocket pot holders.
I used Lori’s Big Tea Towel Bundle (SVG) Sillhouette doesn’t have the bundle but the 2 that I used were Whip It (Sillhouette) and Cooking Smoke Alarm (Sillhouette).
I used some gold and silver iron-on material for the images. Don’t forget to mirror your images.

 

I plopped in a little whisk and some cookie mix for a cute little gift for my co-workers.

Today I Am Thankful Sweatshirt

Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you have a fabulous day enjoying the parade, dog show, turkey bowl, feasting, or whatever you love to do on Thanksgiving.  I am wearing a sweatshirt that I quickly made with one of Lori’s files and some Heat Transfer Vinyl. I used the  I am Thankful (SVG, Silhouette) file.

 

I hope your weekend is full of family, fun, and food, and maybe some shopping.  This weekend is a great time to stock up on your crafting staples.  I plan to restock my paper, mats, and adhesive. Are you looking for anything in particular?  Keep an eye out… there just might be a sale coming!

Who is ready for Christmas?  I’m excited to work on Christmas crafts and get the décor up!

Layered Heat Transfer Vinyl Tutorial

Anita here with a fun and easy tutorial on how to apply layered heat transfer vinyl to your projects.  My daughter got engaged recently and I wanted to make her a fun t shirt to wear.  I used Lori’s SVG including Hand Lettered Bride and Groom (SVG, Silhouette) and Wedding Rings Card (SVG, Silhouette).  I prewashed the shirt first and gave it a good press.

Here are the pieces laid out on the t shirt for placement.

I removed all the pieces from the t shirt except for the gold ring.  I lightly pressed that down at 315 degrees for 30 seconds.  You have to work from the bottom most design piece and build your way up.  I have a Cricut Easy Press and if you don’t have one you can use a regular iron.  The wool, silk and polyester settings on a standard iron are at around 300 degrees so if using a regular iron I would just increase the time a little bit.

Once the item was cool to the touch, I peeled off the protective plastic over the design.  Next, I put on the white layer which is the background for the stone.  I  pressed that down at 315 degrees for 30 seconds.  I  removed the plastic layer from that piece once it was cool to the touch.

Lastly, I applied the top of the diamond stone and adhered that in the same manner.  Once it had cooled to the touch I removed the plastic topping from the stone.

Next, I laid out the bride word and the decorative swirl.  I like to put it where I think I want it to be and lightly press one edge to make sure that it did not move when I adhered the last two pieces.  I pressed the bride and swirl for 30 seconds at 315 degrees and there was some overlap with the ring and it did not cause any issues.  After waiting for it to cool, I peeled the last two plastic protective layers off, flipped the shirt over and pressed the back for 15 seconds.

I find that these t shirts are best cleaned and dried inside out and that they design holds up well.

Christmas in July Tea Towels

 

Hi Everyone:

For the first time ever, I decided to start making some Christmas items in July.  I  made these tea towels using three of Lori’s SVG files , Flourish Reindeer (SVG, Silhouette), Mistletoe 2 (SVG, Silhouette) and Merry Christmas Flourish Tree (SVG, Silhouette).  I used some tea towel blanks from Kimberbell and they are of awesome quality.  I tend to display my holiday tea towels hanging from my stove door handle so I planned out my sizing for the designs with that in mind.  I used the Cricut Easy Press to adhere my iron on vinyl designs but you can also use a regular iron.  They come out so beautiful and are so easy to work with.
