Snowman Mini Album

Hello everyone! Traci here and today, I’m sharing a super fun mini album that I made with one of Lori’s fabulous cutting files called Shaped Shadow Box Card Snowman (SVG, Silhouette). What a great little scrapbook for winter photos and a cute handmade Christmas gift idea!

I love creating different projects, scrapbooks, and cards with Lori’s files. With the holiday just around the corner, they make amazing presents and home decor. I always set my projects out on my clear acrylic display stand. Lori is an amazing designer and I think these are little works of art!

Her
Shaped Shadow Box Card Snowman file is absolutely adorable with its layered 3D winter scene. I will definitely be making this card soon but for today’s project, I used just his head.

To make the album, I cut the cover out of white acrylic but you could use card stock instead. Then, I used black card stock and patterned papers from Doodlebug Design for the details. I added a few pop dots behind the holly berries and leaves for a little dimension and I think he’s the cutest!

For the inside, I cut 4 snowman shaped pages out of white card stock, giving me 8 layouts to decorate.

I covered the pages in pattern papers from Doodlebug’s Snow Much Fun Collection, then added lots of cute embellishments, flippies, and photo mats. On the page above, I used a 4″ and 3.5″ circle punch by Marvy Uchida to create my mat.

The round snowman’s face allowed me to play with the shape and size of the
photo mats so I varied them for interest. Then, I filled in the extra space around them with die cut pieces.

Speaking of die cuts … how cute are the little penguins above? I placed one underneath the mat so it looks like he’s peeking out from behind it! I made the mat with a 3″ scalloped circle punch and a 2.5″ circle punch.

3D Pocket Explosion Box Tutorial

Happy almost Halloween, everyone!  Yes, my very favorite time of the year to create. Today I’m sharing a fun tutorial for one of Lori’s adorable designs — the Pocket Explosion Box (SVG, Silhouette)  I love how quickly and easily this project comes together.

EEEEK!  It’s so cute!
First, start with cutting all your pieces.  Here is the outside of the box and the lid.
This is the inside layer of the box, the little purple pocket like folders.
And the lid.

After cutting all your pieces, start assembling.  I started with the little file folders, just fold on the score lines and just use your regular adhesive to put them together.
There are 4 total of these little cuties.
This is the inside of the first layer, the black star print is on the other side. Adhere a folder to each side.
So it looks like this!
Next, create the inside layer of your box.  You just fold over and adhere, it makes the cutest little library type pockets.  Just add adhesive to the bottom square on the opposite side and adhere to your first layer.
Now you just get to have fun and go to town with all the little embellishments.
Just open and this little box just explodes with fun!  Adorable!
Thank you for joining us today!

Lantern Mini Album

Happy Monday friends!  Traci here, and I’m excited to be back on Lori’s blog with my latest mini album, using one of her amazing svg files!  For this one, I used the Box card Fall Lantern file.

I cut the cover shape out of acrylic, but you could easily use card stock.  The cutting file includes lots of cute pieces for the front of the lantern … the mushroom, pumpkin, flower, and even some fall pieces that I didn’t include at the top, so you get lots of options in this cutting file.

This cutting file was created as a box card, which you’ll have to check out because it’s a fun design for sending a sweet fall greeting.  But you know me … I’m a mini album girl so I always see album options when I see a cut file and this one did not disappoint!

How cute are the pumpkin and flower pieces at the bottom of this lantern?  And that mushroom?  Adorable!!

In addition to using the cut file for the cover shape, I also used it to cut 4 card stock pages for the inside of my album.

Hmmm…this page is a little crooked Traci!  LOL!

I added 4×4 photo mats to each page and added adorable die cuts from the Doodlebug Farmer’s Market collection.  This is why I like minis … I get to incorporate ALL THE THINGS!

I hope my project inspires you to think outside the “box card”.  Not only do you get a wonderful card with Lori’s file, you also get the chance to turn the pieces into a mini album, or add the pieces to a scrapbook page!  Have fun crafting friends!!

Box Card Envelope Ghost

October is creeping closer… and you know what that means Halloween is just around the corner!!

I’m in love with all the spooky decorations, so of course Halloween cards simply cannot be missed.

Luckily, the shop is filled with Halloween files, including “Box Card Envelope Ghost” which I’m thrilled to share with you today!

For this project, I played with design paper from Doodlebug Designs and topped it off with my absolute favorite: glitter cardstock.

Because let’s face it, Halloween stars deserve a little extra sparkle in the dark.

I added some foam tape under the pumpkin and the bat, for extra dimension.

And of course, the card can be folded flat for mailing!

Do you make your own Halloween cards?

Don’t keep them hidden in the shadows, be sure to share them online!

I love getting inspired by your creations.

The file I used is included in this amazing bundle
