True Scrap Pocket Pages Class & Giveaway

(Keep reading because I’m giving away a spot in this class at the end of the post)

We are SO excited to share with you this amazing class! You all know I’ve been involved with Project Life. I’ve designed several editions and worked with Becky over the years. I also have designed several cutting files and digital  products to support pocket scrapbooking. Pocket scrapbooking is a hot trend right now and it’s something I believe is really helping people get their photos in albums and quit feeling guilty.

True Scrap Pocket Pages is THE event for Project Life/pocket scrapbookers! Whether you’re new to the concept, or you’ve been a PL’er from way back, we’ve got six incredible classes to inspire and educate you. And the best part? It’s online – LIVE! Yup, on January 25, you’ll log in to a state-of-the-art web room where teachers like Marcy Penner, Layle Koncar, and Lilith Eeckels will treat attendees to hour-long classes on these topics:

• Hybrid Hints for Paper People from Traci Reed

• Pocket Scrapping 101: Back to Basics from Layle Koncar

• Do You Hear What I Hear? Including Your Family’s Perspectives in Your Pocket Spreads from Marcy Penner

• KISS: Keep It Simple, Scrappy! Simplifying the Pocket Page Process from Monica McNeil

• Playing Big: Adding 12×12 photos and layouts to your Pocket Pages Albums from Lilith Eeckels

• Outside the Lines: Creative Approaches to Adding Journaling to Your Pocket Pages from Stephanie Bryan

You’ll have plenty of time to interact with the instructors live, asking them all your burning pocket scrapbooking questions. And with sponsors including Simon Says Stamp, Gossamer Blue, Project Life, Studio Calico, and Simple Stories, it’s going to be an incredibly colorful, creative, and community-filled day. Oh, and everything is recorded so you can go back to watch the replays again and again.

True Scrap Pocket Pages is produced by scrapbook superhero Lain Ehmann, founder of the True Scrap events. To date, she’s produced dozens of online virtual events, helping thousands of women find simplicity, inspiration, and fun in their scrapbooking.

I am SO excited for these classes and wanted to let you know about this great opportunity to strengthen your skills.

Tutorial with Lorrie: Tissue Paper Candles + New at Jessica Sprague

Good morning! We hope your holiday season has been wonderful thus far. Lorrie from our digital team has created the most beautiful candles we wanted to share with you before Christmas is over, so before I show you the new product at Jessica Sprague, check out this amazing tutorial.

Happy Holidays everyone!   It’s Lorrie here and I’ve got a quick and easy gift idea for your friends, family and all those special people in your lives.  These tissue paper candles are super easy to make.  All you need is a plain white (or light colored) candle, a piece of wrapping tissue paper, a couple straight pins or tacks and a hot air gun (or blowdryer), and your favorite Lori Whitlock digital elements!

Step one:  Measure your candle and create your design in Photoshop, Silhouette Software or whatever program you choose.  My candle was 6″ tall and 3″ around, so I made my design 6″ tall and about 9-1/2″ wide so that I would have a slight overlap.

Next, cut out a piece of tissue paper slightly smaller than 8-1/2″ x 11 and secure it to a piece of printer paper using scotch tape across the top edge.

Make sure you feed the end with the tape into your printer first and orient the paper so that the image will print on the tissue paper.   Print your image on the tissue paper, then remove the tissue paper and trim your image (it doesn’t have to be perfect).

Wrap the image around the candle and secure with push pins, straight pins or tacks.  Using your heat gun with a constant moving hand start heating the tissue paper.  You will see it will become glossy.  Keep moving, it happens quickly.  The tissue paper will be absorbed by the wax and disappear leaving on the image behind.

Here is my finished candle.   Now just add some festive wrapping paper and you are ready to light up your loved ones holidays with a Christmas Candle.

We also have something new at JessicaSprague this week. This beautiful product is 30% off this week.
