Snowflake Card with Corri

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing my version of  Lori’s new snowflake easel card.  When I saw this pop up in the Silhouette Store this week, I thought what a great way to get started on my Christmas cards.

This card goes together very easily and could easily be made in multiples.  Pick four fun card styles and make five of each and you’ll have 20 cards in no time!   You can also pick one card base that you love and mix up the die cut in the center.  The beautiful paper on my card is from Lori’s new Christmas Cheer Collection from Echo Park.

Head on over to the SVG Shop to check out all the latest files.

Silhouette tutorial with Corri: Creating Your Own Chalkboard

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing a fun tutorial with you guys.  I just love chalkboard art….it’s very popular right now!  I thought it would be fun to try and make one.

Here’s what you need to make one.

I picked up this simple chalkboard and chalk marker at my local Wal-mart in the craft section.  You can find these at almost any store….I’ve seen them at all my local craft stores.

Now all you need to do is cut the “Happy Haunting” title from vinyl (resize to fit your chalkboard).  Next, weed out the letter portion of the vinyl and apply the stencil to your chalkboard.  Color in the letters with the chalk marker.  Allow a few minutes for the marker to dry, then peel away the vinyl leaving your chalk design.   Super easy and you can reuse the chalkboard for any season!  The possibilities are endless.  You could make a sign for a birthday or a menu board for a party.

I hope you enjoy this fun technique.  Be sure to stop by Lori’s shop to see the latest files.

Layered Pumpkin with Lorrie

Hello everyone,
One of the things I like to do when I am browsing Lori Whitlock’s SVG and Silhouette store files is try to think of a way to use them in which perhaps they weren’t intended.
I love the Build a Rosette (Silhouette Store Item 32782) file Lori created and have thought of so many different ideas to utilize them.  Today, I thought I’d try making a pumpkin from the rosettes.
I simply resized the rosettes by 1/4” several times and hot glued them together.
The Fall Leaves (Silhouette Store 23093) made perfect leaves for the top of the pumpkin.
I started thinking of so many ways to use the Rosettes!  How about an apple for the teacher?  A cute pineapple for a tropical party table deco?  I once made a Christmas tree using this exact same method.
Don’t forget the glitter spray to give it that finishing touch.
Thanks for stopping by! You can find out more details on my blog:  Lorrie’s Story
