Butterfly Lantern Tutorial

This week I discovered Lori’s fun Lantern projects in the Lori Whitlock SVG & Silhouette Shops! There are so many to choose from! I decided to make the Butterfly Lantern (SVG, Silhouette), which cuts two on one piece of 12×12 paper.  This makes it really easy to make a bunch for a fun celebration or party favor.

Start by cutting all of the pieces for the lantern…

Add score tape or adhesive to all flaps of the lantern as shown here…

The lantern assembles similar to a box.  First fold all score lines inward with exception to the top, that will fold outward as shown…

Remove tape backing and assemble lantern as you would a box…

Next, use your bone folder to curve the lantern handle and attach with decorative brads…

Complete the lantern by adhering the butterfly layers together and gluing to the front of the lantern.  For additional dimension, I sewed my butterfly layers together and added a fun cherry pom pom to the side that I received from a friend.

Expresso Recovery

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing the new Get Well Tissue Wrap Espresso (Silhouette, SVG).  There are several of these in the store, with different themes.  All of them are so cute and are a perfect little gift for anyone feeling under the weather.

Camera Lovers Birthday Set

Hi Everyone:

Anita here with a really fun birthday card and camera gift box set for the photography lovers in your life.  My nephew takes amazing photos and I made this set for his birthday.   I used Lori’s A2 Shaped Box Card Camera which you can find the file for here in her SVG shop and here in the Silhouette store.  I used her SVG file called Camera Shaped Box and you can find that file here in Lori’s SVG shop and here in the Silhouette store.  Lori also has a wonderful tutorial for putting together the camera shaped box which was done by one of my fellow Creative Team members, Brandie Adams which you can find here.  I used a several of Lori’s wonderful Echo Park paper collections on these projects including I’d Rather be Crafting, Back to School and Easter Wishes.
