Valentine House Box 2

Hi there paper crafting friends!  It’s Michelle Starcher, aka the Bookish Designer, popping in on the blog to share the adorable Valentine’s Day House Box I made using Lori’s Valentine House Box 2 file  (SVGSilhouette). Lori always has the cutest gift boxes available for every holiday, and the best part is that they are so easy to put together.

The Valentine House Box 2 is perfect for collecting Valentine’s Day cards with a built in slit that people can use to drop in their card or note.  Plus there is a removable roof that you can put on top of the box while in the collecting phase, and then quickly remove it when you are ready to read your notes.  The Valentine House Box 2 can even be used for gift giving.  Pack your homemade goodie or gift inside the house, and use the slit to hold a card that goes along with the gift.

Lori has so many wonderful cards, gift boxes, and word art files available for Valentine’s Day.  With so many options, it’s easy to add that personalized touch to your Valentine’s Day gift this year.  The hard part may be picking just one!

Until next time,

Michelle

Valentine Mini Mailbox Treat Holder Tutorial

Hello crafty friends! Aimee here with you today sharing a tutorial on one of the many new and fabulous Valentine SVG files from Lori. I have been so giddy over these new treat containers, cards, and 3D decor files that I want to make them all!

But I will rein myself back in and focus on the MINI MAILBOX TREAT HOLDER (Lori’s Shop, Silhouette) that is super cute!!! Alright, here we go…

Cut out all of the pieces to this project

At this point I’m going to give you 2 different options on getting the main 2 pieces adhered together.

1. adhere both pieces and slide the center piece into the outer mailbox shell

and adhere the two pieces together

Or….

2. Adhere the center box together and then wrap the outer mailbox piece around it and adhere the two pieces together as you go

Now we can adhere the center layer into the box

Adhere the sweet little envelopes onto the center divider piece

Add your adhesive to one of the long strips and start adhering it from the bottom of the front side…

to the bottom of the back side.

Adhere both sides down and you’re done!
Now add some cute embellishments and some candy and you are ready to hand this over to your sweet someone.

That’s all from me! Hope you enjoy making this sweet project as much as I did! Now I am off to go make some more of the new files!

I Love You Alphabet Card

Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it!  To get ahead on my crafting,  I created a fun card which uses the new I Love You Alphabet 2 File (SVG, Silhouette– coming soon).  Take a peek…

To make the card,  I resized the I Love You Alphabet 2 file to be 4″ wide (when resizing make sure to “lock” the aspect ratio).  I drew a 4.5″ x 6.5″ rectangle in Silhouette, and then centered the alphabet on the rectangle.  I selected the i, heart, and u and moved them off, then grouped the rest and cut.  I layered this piece over a 5″ x 7″ piece of paper, using foam tape for dimension, and also added the centers of the letters a,b,d,e,g, p & q.  I cut the i, heart and u from a coordinating paper and added them in their designated spots using foam tape.  To complete I added this to a 5×7 card base.

I’m now all set with a card for my sweetheart!  That’s it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek.
