Card and Chick by Christine

Today we have Christine showcasing her talents with us…
I love making Easter projects and as soon as I saw the Chick Candy Dispenser, I knew that I just had to cut it out.
I followed Lori’s instructions here on her YouTube Channel to put it together and then added a few of my own embellishments.  Don’t you just love googly eyes?  I think that they add so much personality to my little chick.
The front of the box opens up to reveal your treat of choice.  I had just picked up these yummy Hershey’s Kisses in Easter colors. The front will close and then you carry the box around by the handle at the top.
I added the feathers on the back of the box.  I had to use some really good glue to get them to stick but once they were dry everything was fine. I used orange glitter paper on the beak and the feet.  Sometimes, those little details can really make a project pop!
You can’t have a treat box without a card, can you?  So I looked through Lori’s card files and found this one which I think is perfect.  It gave me a way to incorporate the cardstock that I used on the chick into the card so everything is matching!!  I love how simple it is too.

And since it was so easy to cut out this card, I decided to make a matching envelope.  Again, I used the same yellow cardstock to cut it out.   What fun to have a bright yellow envelope.  I used the fancy envelope.  I love the beautiful flap.  Because I wanted to dress it up even more, I cut out a mat for my flap.  If you want to learn how I did that, please stop by my blog and I will show you how.  It’s really easy!

Layout by Mendi

“I had so much fun playing with Lori’s layout files for the blog hop that I decided to give them another try using an 8×8 format.   I took Lori’s single page Summer Layout and I mixed it up a bit by rearranging all the existing elements to match a sketch I had already planned out, turning it into 2 pages. I’m telling ya… I love how many elements you get with these layout files. For my title, I couldn’t really truthfully use the word summer since my photos were taken in Hawaii during the dead of winter so I turned to Lori’s Summer Fun Titles for an alternative.   I used Lori’s new “Sweet Girl” collection which she created for Echo Park. With the exception of my ivory cardstock, I actually was able to make my entire layout using the coordinating 6×6 pad! The pad has prints which are reduced in size and it worked well for my smaller sized layout.  I love Lori’s little pie chart paper and how it mimics the look of beach balls to match my theme. If you still haven’t given Lori’s layout files a try yet, I highly recommend checking them out. She has more styles are available in her shop HERE.  Also swing by my blog today to see larger pictures of my overall layout”.

Digital Life Layouts by Lisa Barrie, Roelien, and Lisa Bell

Welcome to the weekend. We are gearing up for my son’s 18th birthday party tonight. It is hard to believe time has passed so quickly. As I have been lamenting of time passing too quickly, Lori has been creating all sorts of Life Cards, Templates, stamps/brushes etc. I have to admit I have done VERY few digital layouts until I started playing with all her digital Life Templates, Cards, and stamps. While my husband was out of town last week, I pumped out 4 double page layouts for the month of February, easy and fast. Lori’s products made it so easy to capture a fun layout.  Check out some of the layouts our creative team has done.

I am trying to document life, and having the best of time remembering the good, the bad and the ugly. I LOVE the stamps (celebration and everyday) for documenting these crazy days in our life. I don’t care about the weekly title for each layout, but what I do care about is the month. I decided to mark each month with the graphic icon from the Celebration Stamps. That way the month layouts will be tied together. Some of my layouts have only 1 event while others have multiple weeks on one page, because of that, I don’t want the week labels, just the fun graphic. For more detailed pics and info check out my blog.
