Gift Card Booklet with Kathy

Hi Everyone, it’s Kathy today with a fun little gift card booklet I created using Lori’s Build an Album String Tie Envelope.  Every year for Christmas, I give my daughter some gift cards to her favorite places… it’s become a tradition, and she really loves it!  I don’t want to just hand her the cards, so I always make a little booklet.  This year I used Lori’s String Tie Envelopes to put it together. (available here in the Silhouette Store)

I tied five of the envelopes together with some twine to form the booklet, and had a fun time decorating each envelope… take a peek…

Each envelope has an insert.  I used some fun washi tapes to attach the gift cards to the inserts.

I can’t wait for my daughter to open this on Christmas day!  That’s it for me today, I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

50% OFF Last Chance + Christmas Décor with Courtney Lee

Don’t miss out!!!  Today is the final day of our huge Christmas Sale!!  Get 50% off an order of $20 or more, no code needed!  It’s the perfect time to stock up on all those items on your wish list!  Maybe this next project by guest designer Courtney Lee will be part of that list… check it out!

Hello all you Lori Whitlock fans!!! It’s Courtney Lee from Court’s Crafts here today to share with you how much FUN I had making this home decor project! If you love to layer, this is for you!!!  I fell in love with this 3D Frame Decor Christmas Tree (HERE is the link to Lori’s Shop)(HERE is the link in the Silhouette shop) right away. I had to have it. I cut out all the parts using some Doodlebug Designs paper. Since the layers are color coordinated it was super easy to put together.

Now comes the fun part – layering and decorating! I stitched around the edge of the cream layer. I wasn’t going to because, well, I am not the best “stitcher”, but I just went really, really slowly and I think it turned out really nicely! Don’t be afraid to try it. The worst that will happen is you have to cut a new piece. Tip: start at the bottom as you are going to cover it up with presents anyway! 😉

I used various layers of foam adhesive and even stacked the foam adhesive dots on top of one another to get the amount of layering I wanted.

I added some Stickles to the star, bows, and presents. Something about Christmas makes me want to sparkle EVERYTHING! 😉

Next I added some sprinkles (sparkle enamel dots) to the tree and the presents. I attached my sentiment directly to the bottom of the box.

I grabbed a little gingerbread man doodlepop and a heart sticker as well as a mini paper clip and added them to the bottom.

I finished it off with some holly enamel shapes and voila! Adorable home decor piece. I love that it stands up on it’s own and folds flat for storage. This one is going to be one of my favorite things to put up every year and the fact that I made it from scratch only makes it more special.

So if you have been wanting to try some home decor for the holidays and are being just a little shy, grab the 3d Frame Decor Christmas Tree cut file and give it a whirl! I promise you will be so happy with the result and how easy Lori’s files make it!

Swing Through Assembly Tutorial with Corri

Hi everyone! Corri here today sharing an assembly tutuorial for the new swing through cards. These cards feature a cool swing through motion when opened….your friends and family would love to receive one.

When you cut the file this is what you will have.

I decided to cut an extra one of the red panels so I could have a different pattern paper on the front of my card.

First, apply your panels to the interior of the card.

Apply the tree cut outs to the interior of the card.  Everything is laying flat on your desk right now.  Do not twist anything yet.

Next, apply the panel on the front of your card.  You’ll notice you can’t see the die cut tree that you adhered.

Now you’re ready to flip your trees.  You can see that they are scored.  With your card open flip the tree on the left side of the card to the left.

Flip the tree on the right to the right.

There is small glue tab on the left side tree.  Fold on the score line and apply glue.   Adhere the tab to the back side of tree on the right.

There you have it! Such a fun and interactive card!
