Creative Team Announcement

Thank you all for your patience while we were sidetracked by “life” for a few days. We had so many amazing CT applicants. We’d like to send out a warm “ThankYou” to all that applied. It was a very difficult choice. You truly amazed us with your talent! Of course we can only take on a few new CT members. But, there are times that we highlight projects from guest designers, so please feel free to email your projects for consideration to info@loriwhitlock.com.

Without further ado, please let me introduce you to some amazing ladies that will be creating for Lori Whitlock.

First, we have our returning champs. These ladies have made our jobs much easier and shared their talent with us for nearly a year. I am excited to have them back, in no particular order, our creative team….

Corri Garza is a returning member of our creative team who has amazed us with her cutting abilities this past year.

“I started paper crafting in 2009 when I got a Cricut at a black Friday sale.  I’ve been hooked ever since. I recently added a Silhouette Cameo to my craft room and love making projects with Lori’s fabulous files. I have 10 year old twins and a 5 year old.  I enjoy taking lots of photos, watching my kids play sports and hanging out outside with all our animals.”

My name is Joy Dickson and I live 45 minutes North of Atlanta, GA.  I’m a Southern girl!  I’m married with 3 kiddos + 1 crazy cat.  My husband is my very best friend.

“Hello, I am Natalie Graham. I live in Kaysville, Utah with my darling husband and 4 great kids. When I am not chasing, driving or cheering on my kids, you can find me down in my studio creating all sorts of things. I love sewing, scrapbooking, crocheting, and photography. I really can’t think of any crafting I don’t love. In my spare time, you can also find me baking, surfing Pinterest or making life exciting for my family!”

We have added 4 new ladies to our existing team and we are so happy to have them with us.

Amanda Jones lives in Devon in the UK with her husband and 10 year old son, Lewis. She has an eclectic scrapbooking style–in which one day she will find herself creating a very minimal, graphic project and the next a textured project with layers of pretty papers and embellishments. One thing that is almost always present in her layouts is ample white space and, lately, she seems to have been bitten by the electronic die-cutting bug!

Amanda is blessed to have had the opportunity to work for some of her favourite scrapbooking companies both as a designer and teacher, and has been published in a number of magazines worldwide. She founded a scrapbooking challenge site http://thestudio.amandajonesdesigns.com back in 2009 which is still going strong and you can find her blog at http://blog.amandajonesdesigns.com.

“I am a mother of three beautiful children and the wife of an adoring and very supportive husband. My family is why I scrapbook and they love to be involved in the things that I create and to be the star of the show! I live in Birmingham, Alabama and besides papercrafting, I love to bake and read. I have been scrapbooking for about 16 years and remember the first time I went to a crop. It was as if a whole new world opened up for me. I had always enjoyed photography, but this new hobby allowed me to create something from my pictures and also give them a voice. I know now that there are so many stories in our pictures that would never be told without scrapbooking. As everyone has probably experienced, scrapbooking can lead you into other paper crafting worlds and it wasn’t long before I was learning how to stamp, make cards, 3D altered art, and other paper craft items. I love the scrapbooking business. It is a wonderful beautiful community filled with the loveliest people. We care about each other, encourage each other and share a passion like no other and I am so glad to be a part of it.”

“My name is Mendi and I am from Washington State and a stay-at-home mom to two girls, ages 7 and 12.  I have been obsessed with scrapbooking for about 12 years now and would define my style as cute and girly with clean lines. My first love is making traditional 12×12 layouts, with cards following as a close second. I adore mixing patterned papers and can’t seem to do a project without the help of my chalk inks and sewing machine (and of course my beloved diecutting machine)–I love how the sewing and inks add definition and texture to the diecut shapes to make them pop off the page.  I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of this team working with Lori’s amazing designs and in the company of so many talented designers!”
Lisa Barrie is our new Digital Girl. You already got a sneak peak of her amazing work in our MISM post earlier this morning with the awesome calendar pages.
I have been scrapbooking since my daughter was born in 1999. But, If you saw my scrapbooks from back then you’d have a hard time believing I’m the same person. I’ve been involved in art my whole life and I have my degree in interior design. I am working at being a self-taught Photoshop enthusiast. And after purchasing a Silhouette Cameo last Christmas, I jumped head first into hybrid and digital scrapping. I come from a very artistic family, Sunday afternoons were spent with my Dad doing every type of crafts imaginable, including painting my sneakers with an American flag design. I love scrapbooking and I can’t imagine my life without it!
Please give our ladies a warm welcome and congrats to all of you.  Keep an eye out for the amazing work of these lovely ladies showcased here on our blog. Let the FUN begin!!

Spooky Snack Bag Holders

Corri is here today sharing this cute cutting file in 3 different ways.  I love how she changed the original to fit other themes. Corri says,

Hi everyone!  I hope you are all having a great week!
I have a cute project to show you today that is perfect for classroom parties!
Lori Whitlock just released this adorable snack bag holder.  I just love it!  I’m totally making these for every class party from now on!

I echo her statements when she says what a great package for a class party! Im almost sad I no longer have a child in elementary school. She also gave great instructions on how to assemble this package.

Corri says, “I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the Halloween Snack Bag holder.   You just fill your baggie full of treats and the line up the two holes on the holder…punch holes and thread your ribbon through.
For the bat holder, I cut everything exactly as sized in the file.  I just added a strip of  pattern paper behind the shaped mat to add some color.  The pattern paper is from Echo Park – For the Record 2 – Tailored (designed by Lori Whitlock).  This paper collection is so versatile.  It has some colors that work for Halloween and some that could work for Christmas and Valentine’s Day.
I tied my bag closed with this beautiful chevron twill ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
For the owl, I used this Halloween Owl Spider file .  I mounted him on a square because he fit better than in the shaped mat provided.  I used some orange chevron twill to tie it closed.   The sentiments for both of these are from Scrappy Moms Stamps.

I was having so much fun, I decided to do one more.  I saw this idea on Pinterest and just loved it.”
I love that she took this file and used it 3 ways to create a totally different look.

Thanks Corri, these are great! Be sure to check out her blog here.
